Meringue II

This was my first time making meringue so I didn't really know what to expect in the process of making it. First of all, the recipe doesn't tell you what speed to whip it, and I always whip everything on low, so I was standing there forever starting to get worried b/c it wasn't getting thick. Finally I turned it up to hgh and right away it started thickening up! So, make sure you whip the meringue in a stainless steel bowl on HIGH, and it will thicken. I made it to put over a lemon pie and put it in the oven for 20 minutes and it got lightly browned. I wanted the meringue to be a little harder, b/c it was more soft and fluffy, but since it was my first meringue I was quite happy w/ it! And it tasted great! Thank you!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Delicious! I halved the recipe and it was perfect for a two 9 inch layer cake. I used margarine instead of stick butter and it came out wonderful! Very easy and very tasty!

Blonde Brownies I

Very yummy! I made exactly as directed and they tasted wonderful! Very moist, very easy, very delicious! I did spray the pan w/ Pam cooking spray, even though it didn't say to do so. Next time I will double the recipe so that it makes a 9x13 pan full, b/c now I don't have any left for my husband after taking them to work!Thank you!

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

SO SO SO good!!! I followed the recipe almost exactly. The only change I made was I used minced dry onions instead of chopping one. I usually don't do that but that's what I had and I didn't want to go to the store for an onion. I loved these so much! They are so easy, and so good! I laid them over white rice w/ broccoli on the side. They are also good leftover. I am making them again this weekend!

Pudding-Topped Fruit Salad

This was so good and so easy!! I made the pudding mixture the night before and let it sit overnight and I cut up the fruit right before my party so it was nice and fresh. I actually forgot to put the pineapple chunks it it, but it was still good! I had to use canned peaches b/c they weren't in season. The pudding on top really made the flavor outstanding! Loved it! Thank you so much!

Lemon Meringue Pie III

This was very good! I used graham cracker crust but next time I will use a frozen or homemade crust, I think that will be better for a cream pie. We didn't have a pie server so the pieces kind of fell apart when we went to put them on a plate, but it tasted great! I actually used a meringue from a different recipe that I heard so many good things about. I think it was Meringue II. I left out the lemon zest only b/c I didn't want to go through all that trouble for 2 tsp of it, and I don't think it would have made much of a difference. Thank you for the recipe!

Coconut Cream Pie

Very, very good!! Loved it! It turned out perfect! I let it sit, covered, in the fridge overnight, and then I topped it with whipped cream and toasted coconut flakes. Delicious! Thank you for sharing!

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Loved it! I didn't really go by any of the measurements that were listed, I just proportioned everything to taste. I ended up using crushed ritz crackers for my bread crumbs, I used a whole package, so I then ended up using 2 eggs instead of 1. I used a whole lb of beef, and I used beef bouillon cubes (2) instead of granules b/c I couldn't find granules? I omited the mushrooms b/c I don't like them. And I added brown sugar to the sauce (a tip from another user). I also carmelized some sliced onions to put over the top, and made extra gravy for potatoes. It turned out wonderful! Next time I think I may omit the brown sugar, just to try it without the sweet consistency. Oh, and it made 4 large patties. Thank you for sharing!

Sweet Pasta Salad

This pasta is absolutely wonderful!! I used a red pepper instead of green, omitted the sugar b/c from previous reviews they said the sugar would make it too sweet and I'm so glad I did b/c it was perfectly sweet w/o the sugar! And I added black olives and shredded cheese. I made it the night b4 and let it sit overnight, and it turned out so good!! Everyone loved it, and asked what all was in it! And it was even requested at my friend's graduation party this weekend so I'll be making it again! Loved it! Thank you so much!

Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

This is very good! I've always wanted to try making mashed potatoes w/ sour cream instead of milk, and I just might do that from now on! Very creamy and delicious! The cheese and bacon (I used turkey bacon b/c it's so much healthier) was a very good alternative to gravy. For some reason I'm not good at making gravy so this was nice! I only baked it for 10 minutes at 350 degrees b/c that's what I had my oven already set to for my meatloaf and it came out perfect! Thank you!

Parmesan Chicken

Wow this was so good! I listed to other reviewers and baked the chicken instead of fried it. I also used crushed ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs b/c that's what I had on hand and I added garlic powder and onion powder to the mix. I also used someone's advice and mixed the melted butter into the crumb mixture to ensure the crispy outside. I baked it on 375 degree's for 30-35 minutes and they were so perfect! Crispy on the outside and juicy and moist on the inside. I served it over speghetti w/ marinara over it all. Very very good and super easy. Will definately be making this often! Thank you!

Pizza Pinwheels

These were so easy and SO yummy!! Instead of using the triangle crescant rolls, I used a dough sheet that you can find in the same section as the crescants. That made is so much easier to assemble! And I didn't cut them into individual rolls until after I baked them. Such an easy yummy treat!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

This is just a little different than I've made stuffed peppers in the past but this recipe is so delicious!! The only thing different was adding the worcestershire sauce and the tomato soup, both of which added so much flavor!! I used a can of diced tomatoes instead of chopping whole tomatoes, I cooked the rice by itself and then added it to everything else. And I added a little more cheese on the top of the peppers after I poured the tomato soup. So so yummy! I will use this recipe from now on when making stuffed peppers! Thank you!!

Carrot Cake III

This cake was so yummy and so easy! My husband is a health nut so I put in 4 egg whites plus 1 egg, 1/2 cup applesauce, and reduced the sugar to 1 1/2 cups. It came out so perfect and so moist! Thank you!!

Fruit Salad

Very, very good!! I made this for a funeral dinner and I kept a little scoop of it to keep at home so I could try it and I wish I could have kept the whole thing! I doubled the recipe but only left 1 package of marshmallows and that was plenty! The sour cream added a wonderful flavor to the salad! Loved it and will definately make this again!! Thank you!

Mom's Country Gravy

This was very good! Very easy and tasty. I always felt I wasn't very good at making gravy but I was happy with how this turned out. After I finished making it, I tasted it and decided to put more seasonings in it. I also put in a few tablespoons of the drippings from making fried chicken! It was a very good, creamy gravy! Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Yummy! This cake is very good and very rich! The only thing I did differently was using fat free or less fat ingredients: fat free sweetened cond. milk & evaporated milk, 1% milk, fat free heavy cream, and wheat flour. Oh, I also seperated the eggs and beat the whites before adding them to the mixture, don't know if that makes a huge difference but that's what I did. The cake had a great consistency, I loved how it was soaked with the milks but it stayed together and didn't fall apart. While the cake was soaking in the milks, I drained the excess milk around the edges into a bowl and re-poured it over the cake so the cake soaked all of the liquid. There was a little liquid underneath the cake but most of it was absorbed. The topping was also very tasty!

Peaches 'N Cream Pie

I'm giving this pie 5 stars b/c I actually made it sugar-free for my mom b/c she's diabetic, and she loved it!! I didn't care for it that much only b/c I don't like sugar free stuff, but if I would have made it with real sugar I know I would have loved it! It was very easy to make, and it turned out really pretty. The cream cheese topping was a little hard to spread b/c it was so thick, but as long as you take your time and be patient it will turn out great! Like the picture, I put 4 peaches on top for a decoration to make it look nice, and with the cinnamon sprinkled on top it looked very pretty.

Sausage Gravy III

Very good! I was starting to get worried that I did something wrong when it was taking a while to thicken up and I didn't use all 4 cups of milk. But it did start to thicken up and I ended up using 3 cups of milk. I added some garlic and onion powder for our taste. It was very good and easy! Thank you!

Sugar Cookie Frosting

This frosting was very good!! I halfed the recipe and used butter instead of shortening. Unfortunately the cookies I made to top w/ this frosting were horrible! The only thing that made the cookies edible was the delicious frosting! Thank you!
