Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Delicious! I halved the recipe and it was perfect for a two 9 inch layer cake. I used margarine instead of stick butter and it came out wonderful! Very easy and very tasty!

Peaches 'N Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I'm giving this pie 5 stars b/c I actually made it sugar-free for my mom b/c she's diabetic, and she loved it!! I didn't care for it that much only b/c I don't like sugar free stuff, but if I would have made it with real sugar I know I would have loved it! It was very easy to make, and it turned out really pretty. The cream cheese topping was a little hard to spread b/c it was so thick, but as long as you take your time and be patient it will turn out great! Like the picture, I put 4 peaches on top for a decoration to make it look nice, and with the cinnamon sprinkled on top it looked very pretty.

No-Fuss Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
Very good! I made w/ 1 lb turkey and 1 lb hamburger, and chicken flavored stuffing mix b/c that's what I had. I added diced onions b/c you cannot have a meat loaf w/o onion!! I also seasoned it with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I baked it covered b/c baking it uncovered sounded silly to me, it's a thick meatloaf and needs to cook from the inside out. It turned out perfect! Thank you!

Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This is very good! I've always wanted to try making mashed potatoes w/ sour cream instead of milk, and I just might do that from now on! Very creamy and delicious! The cheese and bacon (I used turkey bacon b/c it's so much healthier) was a very good alternative to gravy. For some reason I'm not good at making gravy so this was nice! I only baked it for 10 minutes at 350 degrees b/c that's what I had my oven already set to for my meatloaf and it came out perfect! Thank you!

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
WOW this cake is so good! But let me explain why I only gave it 4 stars. I followed the directions exactly and then put the batter in two 9 inch cake pans and baked. When I pulled them out both cakes had run over terribly and both cakes fell. It was a complete mess and all of the ingredients had been wasted. After reading all of the reviews I just couldn't believe that no one else had this problem, as I followed the directions exactly. I'm sure the cakes fell b/c there was too much batter in each pan, but that's what the directions said to do, so that's what I did. Anyway, I decided to try it again, b/c I was making it for my husband's bday and I really wanted to make him a cake. So instead I put the batter in a bunt pan and halfed the frosting. The cake was amazing!! And so moist, but VERY rich! Will make again, but only in a bunt pan. Thank you!

Meringue II

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
This was my first time making meringue so I didn't really know what to expect in the process of making it. First of all, the recipe doesn't tell you what speed to whip it, and I always whip everything on low, so I was standing there forever starting to get worried b/c it wasn't getting thick. Finally I turned it up to hgh and right away it started thickening up! So, make sure you whip the meringue in a stainless steel bowl on HIGH, and it will thicken. I made it to put over a lemon pie and put it in the oven for 20 minutes and it got lightly browned. I wanted the meringue to be a little harder, b/c it was more soft and fluffy, but since it was my first meringue I was quite happy w/ it! And it tasted great! Thank you!

Lemon Meringue Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
This was very good! I used graham cracker crust but next time I will use a frozen or homemade crust, I think that will be better for a cream pie. We didn't have a pie server so the pieces kind of fell apart when we went to put them on a plate, but it tasted great! I actually used a meringue from a different recipe that I heard so many good things about. I think it was Meringue II. I left out the lemon zest only b/c I didn't want to go through all that trouble for 2 tsp of it, and I don't think it would have made much of a difference. Thank you for the recipe!

Chocolate Cheesecake IV

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
This cheesecake tasted good, but it turned out a little hard. When I eat cheesecake I expect it to be light and creamy. Also, the graham cracker crust turned out really hard as well. Probably because it had to bake for an hour so the crust turned a little hard. I might try this again but with a different crust.

Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
Very, very good!! I made this for a funeral dinner and I kept a little scoop of it to keep at home so I could try it and I wish I could have kept the whole thing! I doubled the recipe but only left 1 package of marshmallows and that was plenty! The sour cream added a wonderful flavor to the salad! Loved it and will definately make this again!! Thank you!

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
Well, after a few personal mistakes, these ended up turning out very well! Just a little tip to others who may be short a few brain cells as I seem to be: Be sure to leave a good 2 inches of oil from the top of the pan! B/c if it spills over, it WILL cause a stove fire! But I'm sure most ppl will know that. Now, with that aside, after my outrageous mistake, the next night I tried making these again, and they turned out wonderful! I have a huge weakness for mozzarella sticks! So it was probably very dangerous for me to find this recipe! (In more ways than one!) :-) But they were very good, and not messy to make! Oh, and I ended up coating them 3 times, after only 2 coats, the cheese ran out. Thank you so much!

Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
This was ok. It was more of a flavored milk than an iced coffee. I guess I just like my coffee drinks fairly strong and sweet. But this is good for a cool milkshake tasting drink!

Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Loved it!! I did not add the cloves only b/c they are kind of expensive, so I just used our favorite seasonings. I don't usually measure my ingredients, but I think I was pretty close on most of them except I probably put 2 tbls of brown sugar, and I definately did not put 1 whole cup of ketchup in there! That sounded a bit much! I went ahead and let it simmer for 30 minutes and all of the flavors really blended together! It was so yummy! I ended up making another batch so we could have leftovers, and I made my homemade french fries to go with them! Thank you so much!!

Pudding-Topped Fruit Salad

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
This was so good and so easy!! I made the pudding mixture the night before and let it sit overnight and I cut up the fruit right before my party so it was nice and fresh. I actually forgot to put the pineapple chunks it it, but it was still good! I had to use canned peaches b/c they weren't in season. The pudding on top really made the flavor outstanding! Loved it! Thank you so much!

Sweet Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
This pasta is absolutely wonderful!! I used a red pepper instead of green, omitted the sugar b/c from previous reviews they said the sugar would make it too sweet and I'm so glad I did b/c it was perfectly sweet w/o the sugar! And I added black olives and shredded cheese. I made it the night b4 and let it sit overnight, and it turned out so good!! Everyone loved it, and asked what all was in it! And it was even requested at my friend's graduation party this weekend so I'll be making it again! Loved it! Thank you so much!

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
Loved it! I didn't really go by any of the measurements that were listed, I just proportioned everything to taste. I ended up using crushed ritz crackers for my bread crumbs, I used a whole package, so I then ended up using 2 eggs instead of 1. I used a whole lb of beef, and I used beef bouillon cubes (2) instead of granules b/c I couldn't find granules? I omited the mushrooms b/c I don't like them. And I added brown sugar to the sauce (a tip from another user). I also carmelized some sliced onions to put over the top, and made extra gravy for potatoes. It turned out wonderful! Next time I think I may omit the brown sugar, just to try it without the sweet consistency. Oh, and it made 4 large patties. Thank you for sharing!

Fabulous Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I'm sure I did something wrong. I can usually bake all sorts of yummy things, but these cookies turned out very flat, and didn't taste very good. They looked good when I puled them out of the oven, but as they were cooling off, they flattened to pancakes. I'm sure I did something wrong, just not sure what?
