About this Cook
I grew up in the midwest and did not have a lot of exposure to different spices. After moving to Colorado, my circle of friends was big on huge flavors and it opened a new world! I really loved food and I eventually started to teach myself how to cook and now I love to experiment and I usually try a new recipe once a week! My boyfriend loves my cooking and that keeps me very motivated. I'm very active- love tennis, working out, hiking, and of course - eating out, cooking, and lots of wine!
My favorite things to cook
I love making spicy things- mexican is a definite favorite. I also just love trying new recipes- anything really.
My cooking triumphs
I feel triumphant almost everyday!

LIZZY217's Lamb Gyros
This is a WONDERFUL marinade for the lamb! It was incredibly flavorful. I used leg of lamb because it is less fatty and just cubed it. I actually prefer a little sauce so did not drain it out completely. I didn't have any marjoram and just subbed in a little more oregano and added some coriander and paprika. So delicious! Thanks...we are huge fans!!

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing
This is a terrific fish taco recipe; I use it all of the time. I love the chipotle mayo- though I usually sup ff sour cream and some yogurt for the mayo. turns out great and is much healthier! I also like to make the crunchy corn salsa on this site with red bell pepper, corn, red onion, and cilantro. It is a nice mild salsa that pairs well with the chipotle. Yum!

Key Lime Pie VII
This is a great recipe- I cannot believe how easy it is. I used one can of nonfat condensed milk and one with full fat and then nonfat sour cream and it was still delicious. Mine did take a lot longer than 8 minutes to bake though- probably more like 20.
