Honey Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
I normally am not a honey fan, but I made this to go along with a loaf of bread that I made for my husband. It was delicious! It was so good on the fresh bread and we couldn't get enough. I didnt' make the full batch but I used the 1-3 ratio and did 3Tbsp of room temp butter and 1 Tbsp of honey. Lets just say I had to make more by the time the meal was done! Delish! Thanks~

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
This bread was delicious! I followed the directions to a T except I added the additional 1/2 tsp of salt that one person recommended. I made this to go along with homemade beef stew and I made a honey butter to go along with the bread. The loaf was nearly gone before supper! lol I had to swat hands trying to sneak it all or it would have been gone! My hubby and kids and I thought it was great. Can't wait to make it again. Thanks for the recipe!

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
This was good and comfor-foody. My husband really liked it too which surprised me. Very Yummy. Oh and I used venison sausage. It was a nice way to use up the venison because I don't really like it by its self. Thanks for the recipe!

Pear Crumble

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
I had 3 left over pears that were needing to be eaten so I decided to make this for a dessert. I didn't really follow the specific measurements for the crumble- but with those ingredients it can be made to prefference. It was delicious served along side butter pecan ice cream. I diced the pears and baked it all in a loaf pan and baked for 45 mins in my toaster oven @ 350. Yum! Thanks for the recipe!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
Omg! I am surprised! This was absolutely the most moist chicken I have EVER had! I followed the recipe but added more seasonings inside the bird as well as outside. In the cavity I did 1/2 stick of butter, bay leaves, 2 whole all spice, celery and carrots. I put the chicken in a dutch oven. in the bottom I put the other 1/2 stick of butter and then I poured in a little white wine. Covered and baked for 3 hours- took the lid off for the last 30- 45mins of baking. I had a 5.5 lb chicken. It came out so amazing! Thank you for this recipe! I will only make chicken this way. The breasts were juicy and tender. Much more with this recipe than with beer butt chicken. Thanks again!

Hamburger Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
Oh my goodness. This would rate at one of my biggest kitchen disasters. I am so sorry to say. The place that it went all wrong was adding the taco seasoning. It didn't taste good at all and once that flavoring was in there it was impossible to cover up. I couldn't eat it at all. I had to throw it away and that makes me sad to waste food and money. Sorry, but I didn't care for it at all.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This was my first time trying fondant and I was super excited to try it because things seemed to be going so well. I made some beautiful different colored balls and put it in the fridge. Then I got prepped to roll it out to decorate my cake. It wouldn't roll out, it was greasy and sticky no matter how much confectioners sugar. I ended up having to throw out the whole batch which was dissapointing for how much product I used. I am just glad that it was just a practice run and not for an important event. I will keep searching for a different recipe for fondant. Sorry but this just didn't work for me.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This recipe was ok. The flavors were nice, not great. Sorry. It did make my steaks very tender though. The smell while frying them up made a sort of rancid smell that was kind of overwhelming, but could be overlooked if the marinade was amazing. It wasn't a favorite in our house though. I think we will stick with using Famous Daves Burger & Steak rub. (I used real garlic)

Pork Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Make sure you use the right kind of marsala and make sure to simmer it long enough so it isn't bitter. Then it tastes delish! One of my hubbys fav's.

Zippy Summer Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I am sorry but I didn't like this dish at all. I followed the recipe (except for decreasing the lemon juice by 1/2- since I already don't like the acidity). To me there was NO flavor and then at the end there was a bite. It would be nice with some salt or some thing...anything to balance out the heat. I had to completely rinse them off in order to serve them with the alfredo I was serving. I will not make this again- Sorry, but I was so excited due to the clever name and great reviews which I normally fall in with...just not this time.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Omg! Omg! Omg! I just got finished eating this and I am still thinking about it and wishing that I had leftovers for tomorrow! This dish was amazing! I served it baked potatoes. My husband, who doesn't like chicken for the most part, couldn't stop saying "mmmm", and "I don't know what part is the best, but it's so darn good" As a cook it is always a good feeling to put a smile on my families faces. Thank you so much for this recipe (and for getting my husband to eat chicken!) lol I can't wait to make this again for other people...pot luck here I come! (I did not pan fry them-only baked covered @350). Thanks again! If I could have I would have given this 10 stars! YUM!!!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
We loved this recipe. I did follow the others advice and use 1 can of condensed golden cream of mushroom and 1 packet of brown gravy in addition to the condensed french onion soup. I did pan fry them some then baked @400 for 30 mins then brought it down to 350 for another 30 minutes all in the gravy. At first the gravy/sauce tasted a little off but as it baked it really meshed well together. It was delicious and my husband keeps reminding me to put it on our menu options list. Next time I will try it with the origional recipe. I initially thought the onion flavor might be too strong with 2 cans of the onion and hubby might not like it. I would deffinetly recommed doubling the sauce if serving with mashed potatoes as we did. SOOOO yummy! Thanks for the recipe, it's a keeper!

Crabmeat Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
I have been looking forever for this recipe. I wanted a recipe that tasted like the mock crab salad that I buy from the local grocery store. The salad is delicious but is so expensive! When I found this I immediately made it and it was delicious! Thank you for this recipe, I can't wait to make it for a function. YUM!!

Crispy Oven-Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Sausage and Potatoes

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I thought that this recipe was great as a whole. I used chicken legs for the chicken parts. My only problem with this recipe, and maybe it was my own fault as I used dry rosemary, there was just too much of it. I WILL make this recipe again and just not add all of the rosemary or use fresh and finely chop it. Yumy flavor! My husband said he really liked the sauteed/ fried brats which he normally doesn't. Thank you!

Artichoke Dip I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
This was delicious and there were no left overs of this at my party! I did as others suggested with no mayo but 1 can of cr. of celery and I added 2 14 oz cans of well chopped artichoke hearts in water. I also seasoned plain bread crumbs and put them on top. I used fresh garlic instead of powder. It was so good on some pita chips! YUMMY thanks for the recipe, it's a keeper!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
These were very juicy burgers. I added 3 cloves garlic and followed everything else to a T. Next time though I will add a little more seasoning or maybe exta worchestershire with a little extra bread crumbs. With more of a kick these would be restaurant quality! Thanks
