Clam Sauce with Linguine

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
vv tasty, vv easy. hardest part was chopping the mushrooms--and how hard is that? :-) we added extra garlic (we like it garlicky), cut back a bit on the butter and the "juice", and added a pinch of thyme, and it turned out wonderfully. served over whole wheat pasta, it was a nice change from the usual chicken and tomato sauce fare. we will be adding this to our "favorites" rotation! thank you for the recipe!

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
heavenly. made it for a family reunion--only two people knew what it was (they oohed and ahhed), but it was gobbled up. very creamy, but not soggy--i followed advice of the person who said to REALLY beat the cream. used three packages of the soft ladyfingers from the store, dried overnight. also, used part espresso for the liqueur (and a little more of both), and let it sit a day before eating. next time, thinking about adding a little cocoa powder to the custard to make it overall more chocolately (and thicker, too). very good recipe! easier than you'd think!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
Very very good. Maybe cut down on the cayenne a bit if you don't like it too hot. Soupy--more like REAL jambalaya than other recipes I've tried--a bowl is good with a thick hunk of bread. My husband loved it, and he's pretty picky about authenticity. This one goes in the Make Often recipe box. ;-)

Seafood Piccata

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2004
made some changes to make it a little more healthy--less olive oil, half the butter. we didn't have any scallops, so we used clams instead. in the end, it was delicious! we used linguine, but next time will use smaller pasta--it'd be easier to eat that way, with a spoon, because it *is* a little soupy, but very very good.

Black Bing Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2004
This is great! I'd been looking for a good recipe with bing cherries after I accidentally bought some for baking cherry pie (which is better with sour cherries). Definitely fit the bill. :-)

Baklava

great recipe, though i didn't have a clue what kind of nuts to use. ended up with almonds, pecans, and hazelnuts. next time i'll chop them a little more finely. i agree--it's a great sharing recipe; way too much for just 2 people. :-)

Easy Pie Crust

super easy. we've added extra milk (up to 4 tablespoons) and decreased the oil accordingly to make it lighter and lower in fat. great for open face strawberry pies. :-)

Andie's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2001
this was good, but i think next time i'm going to reduce the amount of hamburger by at least half. that way it'll be cheesier and easier to taste the delicious mushrooms! :-) thanks.
