Ranch Style Oyster Crackers

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
With school out I need to keep snacks on hand and still keep the cost down. These fit what I need perfectly. I omitted the dill weed I didnt have it. I reduced my oil to 1/2 cup also. Great snack and good with soup lunches.

Derby BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
I had to adapt this to fit what was in my fridge and some things i needed to use up. I used reduced fat sour cream and the tail end of some whipped cream cheese. I used super sweet baby tomatoes and I fried my own bacon ( 5 slices). I added the green onion into the dip. I made home made crostini to go with this for a movie later tonight. I tasted it and its very good. Note I did use Dukes mayo because I dont have miracle whip.

Slow Cooker Ham and Scalloped Potatoes

I didnt have the cream of tartar and I didnt need so much milk but overall this is an ok recipe. At the end I tasted it and added a big spoonful of reduced fat sour cream and some garlic salt and pepper.

April's Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
My usual recipe calls for pickle relish and I was out so I went looking for one thats just simple. I liked this alot. Its simple and good and not fancy just a regular old stuffed egg and thats what I wanted today.

Birdman's Caesar Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 27, 2012
I didnt use the raw eggs I opted to use mayo instead. I was using this on a pasta salad that I wanted to be light as opposed to creamy and this did fine. I think it might have a little too much oil but it might be different if you put it on greens.

Jen's Heavenly Egg Salad

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
Excellent I did up it to 12 servings to feed a crowd I didnt change anything and it was perfect. I served it on toast with leaf lettuce, tomato, avacado and stackers dill pickles. My mother in law asked for the recipe and my houseguest who swore he didnt eat egg salad had a couple sandwiches. I think it would be good with a little rooster sauce too. 5 stars.

Drop Dead Delicious Tuna Salad

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
Drop dead delicious? Nah. The lemon is a good idea since it brightens it up. I used hellmans mayo and added it to the right consistency and it was definitely not 2 cups. I tasted it after I made it and it needed salt and pepper at least. Like I said the lemon is a great addition to tuna and it gives it a change but the rest of the recipe is eh at best.

Italian BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This was good I had to make a few changes based on what I had. I used just under 1/4 cup brown sugar since I used the last of what I had and I used a grainy mustard. That said these were really good. I grilled onion slices brushed with the leftover sauce and served them with it. I would cut the balsamic back some especially if youre using a good brand.

Garlic Spread

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
Wow. I did use a big clove of garlic which was more like 2 regular cloves. I used dried parsley since I didnt have fresh on hand. I couldnt decide if we would like this better spread on the bread and then baked or put on after so I made both ways. Both ways are good but something about a light smear of this over the bread and then baking it made it amazing. I made this with spaghetti but it would help richen up a cheaper pasta dish like spaghetti, butter, garlic and parm. Excellent.

Whipped Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
A good basic mashed potato recipe. I liked them whipped as a change for us. I used salted real butter and just added the milk to the right consistency. After I tried them I added salt, pepper and garlic and that seemed to give them what they were needing.

Honey Bourbon Fire Sauce

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
I used leftover salsa from mexican takeout and I used cheap bourbon. Even with the changes this is good. I was doubtful because of the salsa but it came out good. Its not for kiddos though but the men couldnt stop talking about this sauce. A keeper.

Wow. Totally 5 stars. I used low sodium soy sauce and a little less sugar because I was low and powdered ginger. Everyone inhaled this.
