Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
We just love these! I make these with my two small children and we like to add lots of things, like white chocolate, chocolate chips, nuts, and m&ms. we even use them to make cookie sandwiches with peanut butter or whipped cream! this is a great starter recipe because you can eat them as is or add so many things to them! These are so soft and fluffy! wonderful recipe!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
This is my new "go to" cookie recipe. I made it exactly as the recipe says and they were great! I don't like to make alot of cookies at once so I used about half the cookie dough and saved the rest in the fridge for another day. They only lasted about 2 days before we baked and ate them all! Even my picky husband was asking for more!

General Tao Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
this was great! a little too much katchup though. next time i will use less katchup and a dash of cayenne pepper ..i didn't have green onions so i used about 1/8 c white onion and i used ginger powder since my local store was out of fresh ginger. i will be making this again!

Traditional Pita Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
awesome! my yemeni family loved it! we were able to use this recipe for dipping in hummus and foul/fasulia and for cut in half and opened for falafel sandwiches! the kneading is an important part for the texture of the bread i kneaded it for about 5-7 minutes because thats what my mother in law does when she makes her traditional breads and it turned out great..to rise the dough i put a pot of just boiled water in the bottom rack of my oven and put the covered dough on baking sheets on the top rack,(this is a trick from my grandmother). overall this was wonderful and i will be making it over and over!

Preety's Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
this is a great base salad.its almost something like my mother in law (from yemen) makes.the onion is kind of overpowering and its sort of missing something. next time im going to try adding some avacados and maybe some red bellpepper and instead of chopped onion im going to grate a small amount of onion and used lemon juice instead of lemon slices and a little more salt

Beer Battered Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
although this sounds like it would be great it fell a little short for me.i am going to try this again with some tony's cajun seasoning mixed in. i found it to be just too bland and the batter was too mushy not crunchy at all. me being a southern girl i like big flavors and if its fried chicken of any kind i think it should be crunchy. i did try to thicken the batter with a little four but that didn't work well.i think this a great idea but definately not for pickey people like me.

Beef and Onion Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
thank you so much for this recipe! i have a very picky husband and he actually liked it!the only thing i did different was add some diced potatoes to make it even more hearty but only because my husband is a big guy and has a very physically demanding job so he is famished by the time he gets home.i will definately be making this part of our regular family meals!
