Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly, but I mashed some of the cranberries to make it a little thicker. It was better than I could have ever imagined! My family has always used canned cranberry sauce, but after this it's impossible to ever go back!

Hazel's Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
These are fantastic! Especially the sauce, it's amazing! I decided to use seasoned bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs because that's all I had.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
Amazing! I did not have the runny dough problem other people have had, but I did dry my beans thoroughly, I also omitted garlic because I didn't have any. I baked mine and found they were crispy enough and did not require any type of pan frying. This will be my staple recipe for veggie burgers!

Seminary Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
These are good! Quite sweet, but moist and light. I substituted raisins and dried cranberries for chocolate chips and walnuts.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
Good flavor but they came out cakey, I wanted a dense brownie. I followed the advice of the other reviewers and made sure I didn't over-mix the batter, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Wow, this apple pie is just fantastic! I followed some other recommendations regarding adding cinnamon and nutmeg and mixing the apples with some of the syrup before putting the crust on. I am so in awe of how great it came out. Thanks. :)

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
"Yummmmm!" that's exactly what my sister had to say about this pie. I changed up the recipe some with regards to the lime. I used lime juice, like the kind you get in a bottle, so I did not have any lime zest to add to the pie. I found it was lacking that extra kick for me without the zest, I just felt like something was missing. It could have also been that I didn't use juice from key limes (which I've never seen or even really heard of before). The pie was still great though, and I have no doubt that had I made it the way the recipe called for, it would have been awesome.

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
These cookies were fantastic. They were soft and stayed soft throughout the next day. I followed the directions exactly, and this will definitely be one of the chocolate chip cookie recipes I keep coming back too.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Delicious! I used Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Butter Recipe Golden cake mix and margarine instead of butter. I only needed to bake the cakes for about 25 minutes, but my oven does tend to run hot. I only let the cakes cool for about five minutes before removing them because I was concerned about sticking and the cakes slid right out. To prevent cracking I wrapped the cake in foil because the cake pan held in too much heat and started to over-brown the cake. I also used a 15oz can of crushed pineapples (not all of it but almost), instead of just an 8oz. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Wow! I've never made a cheesecake and I was extremely nervous to make one, but this recipe was awesome! I changed the crust a little bit by adding a little sugar and cinnamon, I only used 2 tbsp of flour in the mix (which I suspect added a couple of lumps to my cheesecake), used a water bath and I only left it in the oven for 4 hours to cool. My top browned some, but aesthetics don't really matter when you're just feeding your family. If I didn't know, I would think it was made in a bakery. :)

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I was originally going to give this 3 stars because my dough was extremely sticky and uncooperative, even after adding another 1/2 cup of flour. However, the end result was amazingly good! But I used active dry yeast instead of instant, so it took longer than the 90 minutes. I also added some of the recommended cream cheese frosting and they were to die for. I actually think I like them more than cinnabon... and I LOVE cinnabon. EDIT: I made these again for a bake sale (still with active dry yeast not instant) and this time my dough was very easy to handle and they came out great.

The cake came out great, it was moist and delicious. I pretty much followed the recipe except I added more cinnamon, and some nutmeg, raisins, pineapple and coconut.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
Mmmmm! This recipe was great! I took some advice from the other reviewers and used oil instead of butter and added some cinnamon and nutmeg to the mixture. I made it in a 8x3 loaf pan and baked for about 50 minutes at 350. The bread was so moist and flavorful, and the crumb topping was a nice addition. I will definitely make it again!
