Christmas Stars

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2003
I made these for Christmas, and everyone enjoyed them. I made them again for Valentine's Day, using heart cookie cutters. I used seedless raspberry jam for the filling and everyone really liked them. One suggestion: I tend to make thick cookies, (I like them that way) but this recipe you need to keep them thin because, remember, you will be stacking them. My Christmas batch I made too thick, but the Valentine batch I made thinner and were great. Good recipe.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2002
Delicious stuffing recipe! If your looking for a simple, meatless stuffing, this is the one. I used a good bakery bread, and sliced it myself at home. I also increased the chicken broth, probably to almost 2 cups since we like a moist stuffing. My family loved it, and this will be a mainstay! Thanks, Carlotta

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2002
Excellent recipe. For those watching their fat intake, I used no fat sour cream instead of the oil, and it makes them very moist. I also throw in some frozen blueberries for the antioxidant benefit, and hey, they taste great too! A keeper recipe.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2002
It's hard to believe that something so simple to make can taste so wonderful! I'm a chocoholic, and this cake is really good. The last reviewer complained of it being too "spongy". She overcooked it. Keep an eye on it, don't let it overcook, and it's a great chocolate cake.

Pumpkin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
Excellent bread! My family loved this. I had a little trouble with the cream cheese mixture. Mine seemed "runny". I think it may have been the size of the egg. Next time I'll be sure to use a small egg. Otherwise, wonderful and it's a keeper!

Baked Linguine with Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
I tried this recipe after reading the rave reviews, and was very disappointed. My family is a pasta-loving family, but all of us did not like this dish. The cream cheese and sour cream really over-power the dish. Thumbs down from me.

Chocolate Zucchini Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2001
I can't figure out why this recipe is called Chocolate bars, when it really is a cake. The author of the recipe even calls them cookies! This is a cake, folks. It is good chocolate cake and a good way to use up extra zucchini. For the calorie counters: I substitued Lighter Bake for the butter, and it cuts the fat yet you lose no moisture or taste. I also cut the sugar some.

Chicken Caesar Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2001
This was so delicious! Easy to put together, and if you enjoy Caesar salad, your sure to love this recipe. It makes a big salad, so I sent some over to my sister, and she called almost immediately to ask for the recipe. It's a keeper!

Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2001
If your a cream puff fan, you'll love this cake! It was delicious. My only problem was the chocolate on top ran. I used the squeeze bottle chocolate syrup which I guess was too thin. Next time, I'll either omit it, or find a thicker chocolate to use. This recipe is a keeper!

Apple Pecan Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
This is terrific! But don't wait til fall to try it! I usually make Apple Crisp, and was looking for a different apple recipe. I've made it twice this week, and my family can't get enough of it! Very nice dessert. I also used walnuts the first time, and it was fine, but I think the pecans lend a better flavor to the dish. Thanks, Lori!

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2001
This recipe gets five stars all across! It's even fast as far as being a slow cooker recipe, as it only takes 4 hours on low. I followed the recipe exactly,(make sure you cook the ground beef before you place it in your cooker) and then I went out for four hours. When I got home, it looked delicious! And it was!! It was the best!! Much better than Baked Ziti or some of those other pasta dishes. My kids had thirds, and my sister came over and raved about it. I really enjoyed it, and this will be brought to many pot lucks and barbeques. THANKS, JILL!!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: May 2, 2001
Wow!! We eat a lot of chicken and I am always trying new recipes, and this one is the best I've tried in a very long time! It was excellent. I can't wait to make it again. Next time, I will add a little more tomato sauce, since the kids were scrapping the dish for more. I'm on a low fat diet, so I will use low fat cheese and an egg substitute and see how that works! Great recipe.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2001
This recipe is way over-rated! These cookies are good, but not that good. I made them a few days ago, and there are still many left. If they were that great, my kids would have devoured them by now! They are good, but not great.

BLT Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2001
I made this for a dinner party and everyone loved it. I might cut back on the amount of bacon next time as I noticed people left bacon on their plates. It does include a lot of bacon! Very good, though.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2001
This was a good chicken recipe. Something different from barbecue or teriyaki chicken. My kids liked it and my husband especially enjoyed it. My stepfather did not like it, but he dislikes onions and this recipe is loaded with onions. I recommend the recipe, and definitely will make this again. BTW- I made kabobs with this recipe.
