Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

I found this dish bland and tasteless. I followed the recipe exactly. I even read several reviews wondering how others might "kick" it up, but no one did so I decided to give it a go, as is. We ate it...adding ketchup, which helped. Different strokes, I guess!!

Pesto Sauce

The recommended recipes by SYNEVA may taste good to the North American palate but they are not recipes for authentic Pesto Genovese which must include pine nuts and parmigiano reggiano. Adding chili or cumin is a sin!! This recipe is excellent and I do use walnuts only because pine nuts are very expensive. If pine nuts were used in this recipe, it would be 100% authentic (assuming that the correct cheese is being used).

Chicken And Apple Curry

Wonderful! My son said it was like eating in an Indian restaurant. I used milk to keep down the calories but I could see how using coconut milk would add to the richness of an already superb recipe....perhaps for company. (I added fresh garlic and peas.)

Pork Medallions

Absolutely wonderful! The first time I made this recipe, the only thing I changes was that I substituted thyme for savory (didn't have any). I doubled the broth for more gravy. The third time I made this recipe, I added about 1/3 cup plain yogurt just before serving and it was equally wonderful. I served it for my bridge luncheon and got rave reviews.

Raspberry Almond Coffeecake

The result was excellent and very tasty. I didn't bother with the glaze. However, I did have a heck of a time spreading the thick batter into the cake tin. I finally sprayed a spatula with Pam to spread it out. Also, after having used 2/3 of the batter, the 1/3 left for the top didn't seem enough. Otherwise, it baked as stated and was visually pleasing. It was a big hit. I will bake it again but will try some of the suggestions of other reviewers.
