Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2015
The recipe is easy to follow and quick to make. I used one half of the dough to make crescent rolls as directed and the other half of the dough to make pepperoni rolls. Both sets of rolls had a good flavor, but the dough turned out denser than I would have liked. Next time I make this I'm going to substitute bread flour for the all purpose flour in the hopes of making it a little lighter....

Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
If you are making this recipe to use as a sauce vs using it as a marinade - BEWARE. It is VERY salty. I made it as written and it was inedible. I added more brown sugar, more water and more honey to try to save it. It was still salty, but edible. I'll make this again, but with definite changes.

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
My family absolutely loved this recipe. I did have to substitute fresh apples for the canned filling because it is what I had on hand. I was only able to fit 18 slices of bread into the dish and I had to really squish it to get it to fit. My bake time was also longer than stated. I baked it for for 75 minutes covered (grease the foil!) and then uncovered for an additional 20 minutes uncovered and before broiling. This will be a standard holiday family breakfast for years to come.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
My husband and I really liked this. Since I was only cooking for two people, I used only one fairly large chicken breast. Once it was pounded thin it yielded four "cutlets". I kept the sauce ratio the same because I intended to serve the dish with angel hair pasta. Overall, t his was a very good dish and I will definitely be making it again.

Peking Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
I made this recipe as written. My adult son and I liked it. My husband hated it. He is not a picky eater at all and this is the first time he has asked me to never repeat a recipe again :(

Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
I've made this recipe several times. I make it as written and it has received rave reviews every time. It's actually a very hearty and male friendly appetizer. It's definitely perfect Super Bowl party or tailgating food. I will continue to make this recipe again and again.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
My family didn't "love" this recipe, but I made some changes based on other reviews and what I had on hand. I lowered the sugar to half a cup and it was still very sweet. I used almond milk in place of the regular milk and evaporated milk in lieu of the heavy cream because they are what I had on hand. I also added about a cup of strong black coffee (this was only made for adults) to help cut the sweetness. Overall it's a great basic recipe that is easy to make and customize for particular tastes, etc. I'll definitely make this again during the holiday season. I'll be adding cinnamon and peppermint to the recipe because that's how I like it.

Husband loved this recipe. I substituted chianti for the marsala and doubled the mushrooms.

Cream of Mushroom and Soy Sauce Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
This was the basis of a great recipe for me. I did change it quite a bit to suit our needs. 1) i generously sprayed the crockpot with cooking spray. 2) i put in 4 FROZEN bone in pork chops 3) i sprinkled onion soup mix over the chops 4) i put 2 medium sliced potatoes on top of the soup mix. 5) i dumped in the cream of mushroom soup, a little soy sauce and worcestershire sauce. 6) i cooked it on high for 1 hour, then reduced to low for 5 hours. It was delicious. Next time i will add some frozen brussel sprouts in the last hour of cooking for an incredible one dish meal. Don't be afraid to play with this recipe, it is a great starting point.

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2014
These were very good. I followed the advice of another reviewer and increased the filling amount by half while keeping the crust amount the same. This worked out very well for us. This definitely would have been a five star recipe if it had been submitted with the increased filling amount.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2014
We love this recipe. I use my bread machine to do all the mixing, kneading and rising. At the end of the cycle I remove the dough and bake it in a 375 degree oven. I can't even recall how many times i have made this. A definite keeper :)

OREO® Triple Layer Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2014
I made it as written and after refrigerating overnight we could not cut and serve a "piece of pie". We spooned out a serving for my husband and then i put the pie in the freezer. Freezing it and then serving we could definitely see all three layers and the pie was easy to cut and serve.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2014
This recipe was ok and easy to make. I followed it exactly with the exception of putting the chocolate chips on the crust and I used a few more pecans than called for. My husband and his friend (both bourbon lovers) really liked this which is why I gave this four stars vs three. Being from Georgia and a pecan pie purist, I wouldn't make this again as written. I think i may try adding the bourbon to my standard pecan pie recipe because I think the guys really liked the addition. The chocolate and kind of "custardy" filling of this recipe just didn't work for me though and is not worth repeating.

Zucchini Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2014
We absolutely loved this. I had to use gluten free stuffing but the rest of the ingredients were as listed. I did skip precookong the zucchini out of personal preference. I detest overcooked zucchini. By skipping the precooking step my zucchini came out nice and crisp/tender. I will definitely make this one again and again.
