I'm an 19-year-old college student. I eventually want to own my own diner. I have always loved to cook and be in the kitchen. My dad has taught me a lot of things that I know and really inspired my love for cooking. I am also sort of a health nut but desserts are my weakness! I am also unafraid of "weird" foods. If there is one thing that I will always be thankful to my dad for is exposing my sister and I to different cuisines, food cultures and making us try new things. I believe you have to try something to know whether you like it. If you try it and don't like it, spit it out and don't eat it again, but try it first! That is why picky eaters get on my nerves; :) they miss out on so many delicious things!
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything! I also love to cook specifically for others because it makes me extremely happy to make other people happy with something as simple as food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking cookies at Christmas and always cooking together in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Pickling/canning, my jalapeño sauce, successfully marinating and grilling a shark steak with no help, and being able to transform a recipe and tweak it to form my own version.
My cooking tragedies
I have perfectionist tendencies and when things do not turn out the way I had envisioned all Hell breaks lose ... baked goods more generally.
