About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking all type of ethnic foods. Willing to try my hand at any recipe. Asian, Italian, Middle Eastern, Korean, German.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my father was alive and it came time for us to make Chinese foot, it was an all day event. He was in charge of the Fried Rice and it began in the morning and when served at dinner was extremely flavourful.
My cooking triumphs
I've been told that my Chinese food is my own personal triumph. I make my own Won Ton and Wor Won Ton soups, Fried Rice (Fathers' Recipe), Egg Foo Yong, Dim Sum. Also, I have been extremely successful with my "Potluck" and "Appetizer" recipes.
My cooking tragedies
I have been told that everything that I make is wonderful. I take a recipe and always add my own personal touch to it. Therefore, making it an original.

Shrimp Quinoa
We really enjoy this recipe and it has become a family favourite. I tried adding about a teaspoon and a half of curry powder and instead of raisin I used dried cranberries. They added a very nice flavour to the dish. I found that the 1 tablespoon of lime juice just wasn't enough for our liking so I added an additional 1 tablespoon and found that it was just perfect. I have made the recipe with the shrimp but the second time I decided to replace it with about a half pound of chicken breast. Definitely a keeper!

Grandma's Corn Chowder
I made this recipe by boiling a Moist-N-Tender Stewing Hen that gave me approximately 6-8 cups of broth, then added another 4 cups of broth. I added 1 1/2 lbs. of boneless chicken breast plus the meat that I was able to pull of the carcus. I added three cans of cream corn and one can of kernal corn. I alway put Garlic Plus into everything because it adds so much flavour and just seems to be the finishing touch. I also added nacho cheese to the finished product. This is a wonderful base recipe and definitely a keeper. Thanks to all those that came before me for their alterations to the original recipe.

Tater Tot Hot Dish II
I give this recipe a four star. The family like this but I did add a few things. I added Garlic Plus seasoning. I used Nacho Cheese instead of plain cheddar, substituted Cream of Mushroom soup because I couldn't find the frozen vegatables with cheese. I pre-cooked my broccoli & carrots. Tossed them into the chicken after I added the soup. Great base recipe. I will keep this to use again. Thanks for the recipe
