Dessertlover's Classic Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
This was so good. I added rum to half the sauce, and left the other sauce plain for those who didn't want it. It was so good, since I had leftovers, I couldn't stop dipping things in it!! Awesome :)

Tiramisu IV

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
I gave this five stars despite my disappointment, because I didnt' follow this recipe 100%. I combined this one with the "tiramisu II recipe." Don't do that!!!!! It lacked serious flavor, and I'm not even sure what that flavor was. I make desserts pretty often, and am usually capable of twisting recipes to make them better. Not this time. I used marscapone cheese instead of cream cheese, and also did use 6 egg yolks with 2/3 cup of sugar brought to a boil, chilled in the fridge for an hour, and and mixed it in with the marscapone mixture. I feel like this would have been more enjoyable with kahlua or rum, but the amaretto seemed to be bland. It definitely needs to be refrigerated for more than one hour. Let it stay chilled for 1 to 2 days to let all the flavors run together.

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
I'm giving this five stars because I altered the recipe, so this may be why it didn't come out that well. I substituted amaretto for rum. I doubled the amount of alcohol and coffee as some suggested. I let it sit for 36 hours before serving. It was still runny, but good. But it was lacking some flavor. I'm not sure what that flavor was. I wonder if the rum would have been a better choice. I'm going to let it sit for another 12 hours to see if that helps. I did transfer it onto parchment paper and put it back into the fridge, so maybe that will make a difference. I think that amaretto just doesn't have the same bite to it that rum does, so the flavor wasn't there. :(

Stuffed Peppers with Creole Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
This came out so well!! I used red peppers instead of green and the juices from the red peppers were so sweet and amazing. I substituted equal for sugar. I also added green olives and olive juice to the sauce for more flavor. I used fresh crushed tomatoes instead of canned, tomato paste instead of tomato sauce, and brown rice instead of white. I minced mushrooms in the sauce as well. I also added a cajun seasoning to the sauce. This recipe was amazing!! Thank you!!

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
This was awesome! I appreciate all the comments and suggestions that added to this already great recipe! I added a few tablespoons of melted butter with italian dressing and marinated the chicken for an hour. I baked it in the oven at 400 degrees for a 1/2 hour, found that the breading was still a little soggy, so I put it in the broiler for less then 5 minutes on each side. It came out crispy, flavorful and moist on the inside. We really enjoyed it! I did add some parmesan cheese, italian seasoning and red pepper flakes to the bread crumbs. One cup of them is enough. I also appreciated the suggestion of cutting large pieces of chicken breast in half. Overall, this recipe was awesome and I will definitely be making this again and again! Thanks, Angela!
