My mom never loved to cook, but I enjoyed baking a little here and there. I didn't really get into cooking until my husband was transferred out of state and I had little else to do. I started experimenting with slow cooker recipes and began baking cakes. Needless to say, I gained about 10 pounds. We moved back home (I lost the 10 pounds), but I continue to experiment with recipes and love recreating foods especially desserts that people will usually only order when they go out.

making my family members birthday cakes, mom's fabulous Thanksgiving dinner, and my grandmothers very flavorful and unusual sugar cookies
My cooking triumphs
Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington and my improved tres leches recipe also my first attempt at an apple pie came out very well.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to make a Sacher torte about 11 years ago. Uh, yeah... it turned out so terrible I have never attempted this again because it was so much work. I was very mad. The sauce for it was delicious though.
