Zwieback Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
These are delicious! I make them with Golden Crisco and just over 1tsp of salt. These are just like my mennonite/russian/german grandma made but since she's 88 she doesn't bake that often anymore. Even grandma approves!

Wow! I was craving a portobello mushroom burger like they have at the Cheescake Factory and this does the trick! This was amazing topped with avacado and red onion!!! Thanks sooooo much for the recipe!!!!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I always get requests to make this! I omit the onions and used onion soup mix instead - mix it into the sour cream. I also use cream of mushroom soup instead of chicken to make it vegetarian. I'm surprised so many people omit the cornflake topping - its a must! Also use a sharp cheddar cheese!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
I get requests to make these all the time. They are so simple to make! I omit the butter and garlic topping and just add 1tbsp of garlic powder to the flour mixture. I then scoop them with a cookie dough scoop and bake them on a pizza stone - is absorbs extra butter that oozes out. Also, I only use 4 tsps (1/4 cup) of butter

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
I was excited to finally try these after remembering to get vanilla pudding. I found them slightly dry. Like most chocolate chip cookies I make, I found that once you let the dough sit in the fridge for 36 hours they were much better. This allows the flour to absorb and develop richer flavours

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
This was amazing! Better than a very popular place in town to go for dessert. My family raved about it. I used 1 c.packed brown sugar and 1 c. white. I only had 2 cups worth of grated carrots on hand. I grated my carrots in the magic bullet with water covering them, then strained well. I omitted the pecans from the frosting but loved them in the cake!!! Thank you

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
I also needed to add more milk (not corn syrup - they won't dry properly) My sugar cookies turned out just perfect. I didn't add any almond or vanilla extract.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I have made this countless times and it is always a hit! I usually double the recipe and make it into a circle shape and bake it on a pizza stone! I just use regular AP flour and don't do the egg wash (just bake it in the oven with a pan on water)

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
YUMM! I only used green, red and yellow peppers and a sweet yellow onion. This way everything would be done at the same time. I tossed everything together on a silpat placed on a baking sheet and sprinkled some salt and pepper on top. Use a good quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil!

No Bake Fudge Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Wow! I'm rating this recipe just on the "dough" itself! Awesome! Just the right amount of everything. The peanut butter does not overpower it, just enhances the flavour!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
It's perfect on Martha Stewart's pumpkin cupcakes! It stiffens up in the fridge and it does need to be in the fridge or else it will go bad. I don't think it needs 2 cups of sugar, that would be wayyyy to sweet. It tastes like cheesecake!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
These are really good! I made mine with milk chocolate chips. I refridgerated the bottom for about 1/2 hour before adding the chocolate topping, but they didn't stick together very well. Maybe I won't refridgerate it as long next time. Delicious!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Amazing! Even my overly picky mother loved it, and that's saying a lot! Mash the bananas forsure, I just threw them in the stand up mixer before adding the dry ingriedients. Overmixing didn't seem to ruin this recipe like it does other banana bread recipes for some reason??? I baked mine in a silicone bundt pan for easier slicing and presentation. YUMMMMMMMMM
