Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
This recipe is a WINNER!! Even my picky eater went back for seconds. I halved the recipe and omitted the mushrooms. I did reduce the amt of salt to half. This is definitely being added to our monthly rotation! Thank you for such an awesome meal!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
I have been making this for years. I have tried making changes like adding vegetables, using different cream soups, etc. but have found the best results when I follow the recipe exactly as written. My children absolutely love this dish, as do other family and friends who have tried it! This is definitely my go to comfort meal!!

Super Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Let me just say one word, "Amazing"!! Even my pickiest eater, a 10 yr old had seconds. I had to change a couple of things because I couldn't find any cream of chicken with herbs soup. I used a can of cream of chicken and mushroom and added the pkg of onion soup mix for seasoning. I omitted the chopped onion because of the soup mix. I also used fresh mushrooms. Not only did this smell amazing while cooking, it tasted incredible. I served with green beans and mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy from the chicken to put on the mashed potatoes. This will definitely become a regular recipe in my collection.

Country House Bed and Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
We love this casserole. I did up the croutons to about 1 1/2 cups. I also use egg beaters and fat-free evaporated milk to save some fat and calories. There is also no need to refrigerate, I just pop it into the oven. Super yummy!!!

Bourbon Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
My bff made these for New Year's Eve using ketchup instead of chili sauce and meatballs instead of the sausages. I couldn't stop eating them and asked for the recipe, but forgot to write it down. I was excited to find this version. YUMMO!!

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
I followed this recipe as written with two modifications due to personal preference. I used ricotta mixed with one egg and italian seasoning in place of the cottage cheese and oregano. I used my 5 quart slow cooker and this lasagna turned out amazing. I did not add any extra liquid and had no problem with dryness or it being overcooked. My two children 7 and 11 both loved it and told me it was the best lasagna they have ever had! This will be my go to reciped from now on! Thank you KIMIRN for such a fantastic recipe!!

Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
The first time that I made this recipe was last winter when I needed to use up some leftover ham. I loved it then, but somehow didn't save it to my recipe box. I am happy to find it again and can't wait to make it soon. I followed the recipe exactly...the dollop of sour cream takes this soup over the top!!!

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
This was my first attempt at making a pecan pie and it turned out AMAZING! I followed the recipe with the exception of putting the chocolate chips in the bottom of the crust and then pouring the pecan pie filling over it. I too had a little bit of the filling left, so I just scooped out the pecans and didn't worry about the extra filling. I cooked the pie until set, which took the full amount of time listed. My family raved about the pie and stated that they will be expecting to have it again for Christmas! Thank you for such a yummy and easy recipe!

Baked Potato Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I have been making this recipe for about 12 years. I always get rave reviews when people try it. I only use one 16 oz container of sour cream, so that probably makes the flavors a little stronger. It is best with the real bacon bits. Make sure you refrigerate before serving. So yummy with potato chips!

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
Awesome recipe!! Being from Texas, I've had my share of chicken fried steak...and I have to say, this tasted amazingly authentic. I have never had success making chicken fried steak at home, until now!! I followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of using dried parsley. I didn't have any problem with the cracker crumbs falling off and burning, nor were the steaks overcooked. I did cook them in two batches with half of the oil. I served them with country gravy, mashed potatoes and corn. This was comfort food at its best...the entire family gobbled it up!!

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
I loved this...I had to have a taste once it was made and it was great without even marinating the 3 hours. I can't wait to taste it again when it is ready. I didn't have any fresh basil, so I just sprinkled in a good amount of dried basil. I also used 1 1/2 packets of Splenda instead of sugar. This one is a keeper!!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
Awesome recipe! Everyone loved this meal. I made the recipe as written with the exception of using 1/4 cup of sugar. I loved the fact that the meatballs cooked in the sauce. I did use 93/7 ground beef and it was not greasy at all. This will be my go to recipe for spaghetti and meatballs. I think they would make amazing meatball subs, as well! Thanks, Jenn!!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
These are definitely AWESOME!! Restaurant quality... we loved these. I used green enchilada sauce due to personal preference and omitted the green onions and olives. I also used regular small tortillas and made 10 enchiladas which fit my 9x13 pan perfectly and actually had some filling leftover. I can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch! Will definitely be making these often.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
I made this soup last night. I used a large can of chicken breast, shredded and substituted 2% milk in place of the cream. Other than that, I made the recipe as written. We thought it was wonderful! Rich, thick and very comforting on a cold night. I can't wait to have some more for lunch today!!

My family loves this dish! I use the crock pot and substituted cream of onion soup for since my boyfriend is allergic to mushrooms. I have made this many times and have the ingredients ready to make again this week! Yummy!

Hearty Ham Loaves

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
We enjoyed this dish. Three out of the four kids went back for seconds! After the first hour of cooking, I took it out of the loaf pan and put it in a shallow baking dish so that I could make sure it was basted thoroughly. I followed the recipe exactly. We are looking forward to having the second loaf soon!
