Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
Delicious and a nice change from just regular boxed mix pancakes. We used whole wheat mix and it turned out just fine, follow directions as listed otherwise. Nice and fluffy and a hint of apple and sweetness to the pancakes.

White Beans with Rigatoni

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I thought this was good and a nice change with the beans. We used spinach instead of kale and tomatoes with spices instead of sage because I forgot to buy it!

Cherry Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
This was super easy to make a quite yummy! The pie filling had a bit of a funny flavor which detracted from the pie a bit, but that is my fault not the recipe. I agree with another reviewer that making the crust as stated is key...it is really yummy and much different than a store bought. Takes only a minute too, so glad I didn't opt for the premade I had in the fridge.

Yum! Easy and delicious. I followed the directions as written, maybe added a bit more water. My 1 year old asked for seconds as did my husband!

These smelled delicious while baking and taste so yummy! Used applesauce instead of apple butter and left out the nuts, but otherwise followed the directions.

London Broil for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
This was tasty and very easy. My meat was so tender and falling apart by the end (I needed less time than called for). I added mushrooms and coarsely chopped the meat to make it more of a stroganoff. I did double the sauce which was nice for the noodles I served it over.

Gramma Brown's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
This was easy to make and quite tasty! Only small changes I made were to cook bacon first and add back in at the end and I used half and half instead of milk. Will make again for sure.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
Delicious! Used a smaller roast since there were just 2 of us and my hot crock pot only took about 5.5 hours. The meat was tender and just fell apart and the flavor and dipping au ju was very tasty. I'll make again for sure.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
I thought these were good and easy. The pastry part wasn't the same as you'd get in a bakery but it was still good. I thought the cheese filling was so similar though to danishes I have bought! I took the advice of others and just cut the tube of crescents into rounds and made mini danishes.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
I thought these were yummy! As per other reviews, I just used 8oz of cream cheese and the smaller jar of preserves (12oz maybe)? It seemed like a good ratio to me. I'd make these again.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
These are great and I have made them several times already. I mainly make them for my 1 year old daughter, but my husband and I like them too. To make them a bit more healthy for her I cut the butter waaaaay back, use whole wheat flour and add some shredded carrots to the spinach mix. They also freeze great, yum!!

Grilled Portobello and Mozzarella

Delicious! Only change we made was to use fresh basil instead of dried and we melted the cheese on the grill instead of switching to the broiler.

We used frozen corn instead of canned and baked in the oven, 350 for 10 minutes. These were really easy and delicious. We used a bit more cheese than called for I think.

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Delicious and easy to make. I added a little bit of frozen corn and frozen potato cubes to make the soup a bit more hearty. It had a little kick but was not overly spicy which I appreciated. I would make again for sure.

This was good and easy to make. Followed others advice and soaked Pepperidge Farm bread in the egg before spreading over apples. Also cut sugar down to 3/4 cup and halved the butter.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
Yum! Made this as written, but with sausage instead of bacon. It was easy and delicious. I think 12 servings is too high though. We had 7 and there was probably 1 serving left (and we had another casserole and fruit/muffins too).
