Tom and Jerry Batter

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
THIS is what my homemade non-dairy eggnog needed! To be totally honest, I cheated. I didn't want to take the time to follow the directions, and I just threw all the ingredients in a blender (recipe scaled down, of course). It came out tasting absolutely fabulous. Thanks for this recipe!

Sesame Noodles

The sauce is excellent, I love this recipe. Easy to adjust the spiciness based on the use of the chili sauce.

Roasted Pork Loin

Absolutely fantastic. Basted every half hour, and it was the best pork loin I've ever had, bar none.

Spicy Oil and Vinegar Bread Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Instead of using a jar, I made this in my blender for a fast mixture that kept the spices suspended. When I first tasted it I was like... 'yow, too much vinegar!' I added some more olive oil and a bit more garlic and pepper. I am using it with dinner tonight. It has sat for an hour, and now I really like the flavors. In fact, I'm writing this review to keep myself busy so I don't go back in the kitchen and take another taste!

Best Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I think part of the reason that some people loved this recipe and others didn't was dependent on whether or not someone prefers their food heavily spiced or mild. Personally, I like my food heavily spiced, and so I needed to add things to this recipe. Celery salt, garlic, parsley, cucumber, crushed walnuts, freshly ground black pepper, shredded carrot, italian dressing, and a package of dry ramen noodles, crushed up and the dry seasoning packet that goes with it. This makes the salad have a sharp flavor with a zingy aftertaste.

German Potato Salad

This was a pretty good version of the salad. I added more vinegar and used less bacon. Good wintertime side dish!

Quick and Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2002
We all thought this recipe was the best Tuna Casserole we have ever had. I had subsituted a can of Cream of Celery for one of the cans of Cream of Mushroom, because our children aren't terribly fond of mushrooms. I also used onion powder instead of fresh onion, just to save time. I followed the advice of one of the other reviewers and warmed the soup/tuna mixture together while the noodles cooked. I made enough to feed an army, and it was all gone in one meal...with some of the boys asking for more. I will definitely make this recipe regularly!
