15-Year-Old Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This pesto is great. I made the mistake in using a canola oil..........as I didn't have any olive oil on hand. But, I used it on grilled chicken, and once the oil cooks the pesto is delicious! also, it was a bit runnier than I had hoped (not a dipping consistency), I might add more basil next time. Thanks!!

Fluffy and Delicious Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
Delicious pancakes - nice and fluffy. My critiques are: There is too much vinegar in the recipe, and slightly too much salt. I did try the recipe with the amounts of vanilla and cinnamon recommended & they were really good. I added more milk because the hubs and I wanted a thinner pancake. I think next time I'll try these plain, without the cinnamon and vanilla (and my adjustments above). Thank you for the recipe!

Taco Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I wouldn't call this a taco sauce sorry, and there needs to be more seasoning in the mixture & waaaay less oil.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
These are EXCELLENT red velvet cupcakes! The previous ones I made came no where near as good as these are. The texture is amazing, and the flavor is yummy as well. This will now be my go to recipe for Red Velvet! p.s. make sure you fluff the butter and sugar really good. I'm a very experienced baker & these are top notch. Thanks for this amazing recipe!!! :D

Chocolate Creme Fraiche Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
I love creme fraiche so I was expecting to really enjoy this recipe, but unfortunately the flavor was too strong for me. It was too sour for an ice cream. But it didn't help that I don't have an Ice cream machine (never the less, the flavor wasn't right).

Strawberry Meringue Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I was going to rate these a 3 but the reason these didn't turn out may be my fault, but I will never know. This is why I decided to rate this a 4. I added some strawberry flavoring to my mixture which I believe messed up the recipe. maybe I added too much liquid - my meringues tasted awesome, but they were very chewy and never got 'dry' or hard like they should. I also wasn't thinking straight and put all of the ingredients in the bowl before beating - doh! But I still got it to come to a stiff peak & it looked like it should've to me, i've made this type of thing before! Anyway, wasn't successful for me, but was probably my own fault. :)

Sweet Short Pastry

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
Great Buttery Crust! I used this for a pie. It takes pretty long to cook the bottom part of the crust & also - you HAVE to blind bake this or it will shrivel up like crazy.....learned that the hard way haha. No need for baking spray on your pan, there is tons of butter in here that will stop this crust from sticking.

I LOVED this recipe! So tasty and delicious! It was overly sweet for my taste buds, so I'd cut down on the sugar next time. Thank you for the awesome recipe!!!

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Awesome!!! so exciting to make my own marshmallows!! :D I would say to pour the gelatin into the syrup very slowly and carefully because at first it will bubble up really high - just keep whisking it until it settles & then pour the rest of the gelatin in. Thank you!!

Vegan Pancakes

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
For vegan pancakes these weren't bad, but they were quite bland, the texture was slightly odd & there was too much salt in the recipe. In saying that, if I was making breakfast for a vegan, I would prob come back to this recipe & add some sugar or vanilla, and take out half of the salt. Thanks!!

Fudgy Brownies II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
These were nice tasting, but didn't turn out fudgy for me. they were almost a mix between a really gooey brownie and cake. Sorry, but i've gotta say these didn't hit the spot for me.

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
Fantastic!! Anyone know how to get the moisture out of it though?? I put a lot of food coloring in and it made a nice dark pink color. Make sure you start shaking asap or you'll get lil blobs of dark pieces (guess you could sift them out anyway). I don't think i'll ever buy colored sugar ever again - thanks so much for this amazing idea!!!!!!!!

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Blondies

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
I'm giving these a 5 star because my friends though they were so good!! I told my friend about AR and she said she'd give them a 5 star, so there ya go:) I thought these were really nice too, but I did use: Butter instead of Marg, 1/2 less flour, & a lil less sugar (used 1/2 brown sugar instead of white). These were really really greasy (i guess from the PB??) that's one thing i didn't really like. And it seemed like they needed more of a peanut butter flavor to them. I will probably make these again though since they went over so well with my friends!!

Creamiest Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
This mousse was lovely and decadent! The only reason i'm giving it 4 stars is that the texture wasn't as stiff as a mousse should be, and I whipped everything correctly. Also the flavor could have used more depth. Thanks for the delicious recipe!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I didn't have time to make the chips, so I just made the salsa part - OH MY GOSH, I love this stuff!!! The only bad thing I can say is that the color's didn't stay bright, and it got a bit "juicy". We used this as a topping for our cheesecake. WOW, it was really really good! I didn't use raspberries...I think I may have used pineapple in it's place. Thanks for the great recipe:)
