Caramel Shortbread Squares

This recipe is FANTASTIC!! I used golden syrup in place of the corn syrup as I didn't have any. When I was boiling the caramel it burnt really bad on the bottom (this could've been due to having a gas stove), so I will watch it more closely next time and put it on a lower heat. But I do have to say the slightly burnt taste was actually really good!! I might try putting a dab of the condensed milk mixed in with the chocolate so its not so hard on the top of the squares next time. Also.....the squares in the photo must've been a double batch of the caramel and chocolate or something because My layers were very small and I used a 9x9 pan. Next time I might try to double just the caramel part (makes sense too because 1/2 a cup is about half a can of condensed milk, so you might as well use the whole can!). Thanks for a great recipe!!! Just an update on these because i've made them a couple of times now........the caramel actually tastes A LOT better if you slighty burn it. Also, you need to keep them in the fridge otherwise they will start to go off within a couple of days. :)

Farm Macaroons

I have to say these tasted a lot better than the last Macaroon recipe I used from this site called "Coconut Macaroons", but the consistency was not right. I added extra coconut to try and help it, but they were way too soft & needed probably an extra 1/4 cup of flour and 1 cup of extra coconut. My egg whites were very large, that may be part of the reason, but still I think something needs to be adjusted. The flavor was very good though, I dipped them in dark chocolate, and for some I drizzled it over the top. I have to say WITH modifications I will consider making this again, but for the recipe on it's own, I have to give it 3 stars....sorry.

Lemon Square Bars

This is a fantastic classic lemon bar recipe! The crust is amazing.....and melt in your mouth good!! It is a bit on the sweet side for me though, might consider reducing the sugar next time. My friends all LOVED them & my husband is looking forward to the next time I make them:)

Grandma's Hot Fudge Sauce

This stuff is SOOOO good! It seriously taste's just like brownie....so if you're too lazy to make a batch of brownies, make this. It is so easy to whip up....took me about 3-4 minutes to make all up. Only thing for is that once the hot fudge hit our ice cream, it sort of seized up & got chewy/hard. Not sure if this is because I didn't let the fudge cool before I put it onto the ice cream? But i've saved what was left over and will use it for the next time we have ice cream. Thanks Dianne for this very simple, fantastic chocolatey recipe!!!

T's Sweet Potato Fries

Fantastic recipe, the hubby and I loved it!!! Thanks so much. I probably would like it just as much with just salt & pepper seasoning, because it's the actual sweet potato itself that brings out the fantastic flavor. I used the sweet potato called "Kumara" that is very common over here in New Zealand.

Good Recipe! I did use black pepper, because I don't like white, and I didn't have onion powder. Also next time I'll replace the thyme with oregano because I don't like thyme.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Firstly, these cookies did taste nice and they turned out soft. BUT they have way too much butter in them (and I am a butter LOVER), they fell apart and were too thin. I have a lot of experience baking cookies so I took all of the usual "precautions" and still couldn't get them to work. I left the dough in the fridge overnight to harden, and they still came out flat. I then rolled them all into balls and put them in the freezer. Still, after I froze them they still came out flat & it was really hard to get the design on the top to come out looking pretty. These are definitely NOT "Classic" peanut butter cookies. If I was to make these again, I would probably cut the butter in half and possibly add more PB/Flour. ALSO: they made approx 50 cookies, not the 24 as stated & I made regular size cookies.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

The flavor was amazing for these cookies, but they turned out really really flat & the texture just wasn't right. I was really hoping I could get these to turn out because they tasted so good! Maybe they need more flour, i'm not too sure. I did halve the recipe, not sure if that made a difference.

Chocolate Chip Cookies | Another Levain Copycat Recipe

I did not like these cookies - they cake out really crispy, even though I "under baked" them. I figured, maybe it's because I was suppose to make the cookies huge....so I made a really big one and it was the same. The next day they crazily turned soft!?! But I still didn't like the texture, they sort of fell apart when you picked them up.

Ricotta Cookies III

These cookies were very good......a great way to use up the ricotta cheese I had sitting in my fridge! The texture was more of a cakey texture than the normal chewy cookie texture. There's not a whole lot of actual flavor in the cookie, but they are very very easy to just pop "one more" in your mouth;)

Cilantro-Lime Rice

very very good rice!! only thing was that my rice started sticking to the bottom of the pan,and finished after about 15 minutes of simmering. possibly because I have a gas stove? not sure, but the result was delicious anyway. Thank you!!!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

This Chicken was excellent! The garlic powder and lime juice kick was amazing!!! I wasn't fond of the thyme though, so I probably won't add it next time. And I didn't have parsley or onion powder. I used some basil and oregano instead.

Coconut Macaroons

These Macaroons were nice. I dipped the bottom in dark chocolate which was a nice touch! Although the macaroons themselves didn't have much flavor, I won't be making these again. They def need more sugar and perhaps more salt. But I do have to say that they were very very easy to make!!

Donut Muffins

I made this for Recipe Group, my first one:) I thought these were really nice, but not exactly what I was expecting. I think in order to taste more like the doughnut holes they need to be "cakier" if that makes sense. And I did make a second batch splitting the nutmeg in half and adding cinnamon for the other half, this was better for me and the hubs pallet. So overall, I think this was a great idea and they taste nice, but the Nutmeg is a bit overpowering and the texture could be more dense. Thanks Dianne for this quick yummy recipe!!! ATTN: UPDATE!! ok, if you don't like these right away you HAVE to try them again the next day. the texture was better and the nutmeg wasn't as strong, i think because the flavors were able to "mingle".
