I'm the Submitter - 2 tsp. of Baking Soda needs to be added to this recipe - sorry about that!

Royal Icing III

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
Great Royal Icing recipe, but the proportions are off - I would say this only makes 2 cups of icing (also, not sure where the 64 servings came from).

Lemon Lover's Pound Cake

Fantastic recipe! I used plain yogurt in place of sour cream. Had a challenge getting the cake to loosen from the pan. SO good, thank you!!!

Sour Cream Ganache

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I turned to this recipe when I needed to make a ganache & didn't have any cream. It does have a "sour cream", less sweet taste to it. But it's actually pretty nice! and if you pair it with a sweet chocolate cake, you're good to go! This pipes well. If you want it runny again, just chuck it into the microwave for about 20 seconds. Thanks!!

Pro Ganache

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Great ganache - best when whipped, or fully cooled and then applied (make sure you remember this step, instead of just using it right after you mix it all together!). Very tasty!

5-Minute Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Nice brownie recipe! I did think there was a lack of flavor. This could be because no butter is called for, or because I used a different cocoa than I usually do. these didn't seem super chocolatey. But man the texture was delicious - ooey and gooey. I might try this again with my usual flour. This is a good recipe if you happen to be out of butter because mostly everything else is a standard pantry item (in my house anyway). Thanks for the recipe Suzzanna!!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
Very nice chocolate frosting. Would have benefited from having some real chocolate chucked in the mix - was a bit overwhelmed by the "cocoa" flavour.........and believe me I am a chocolate lover!!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Good PB Brownie! I'm happy with them, but they are a little bit boring by themselves. I drizzled some dark chocolate over them before cutting - yum!

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Not a bad dish, I think the success of this dish depends on what sort of vege broth your putting into it, even still I think broth is a bit too strong - maybe boiling the pasta in it would've been a better option. Unfortunately I didn't have any vege broth, so reverted to Chicken broth which was a tad overpowering.....i'm rating it 4 instead of 3 because I had to change a few things. I didn't have pine nuts, which wouldn't have made a huge difference. I also didn't have fresh parmesan - which I think would've helped bring this dish together. I put a bit of feta in the mixture which spruced it up nicely! Thank you!

Homemade Cranberry Bliss Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
Oh.My.Gosh. These are SO good!!! So decadent and divine. Will def be keeping this as one of my go to "bar" recipes! I zested some orange on top for garnish as well as cranberries and white chocolate drizzle. Fantastic combo of ingredients - genius! If I were to change anything, I might cut down on the sugar next time, it was just a tad too sweet. But not too sweet for me to devour :D Thank you!!!

Fantastic. We added salt/chile & some lemon juice to take it up a notch. We made pinwheels out of these instead of triangle pockets. Well received & delicious!!!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
These turned out really good - I rolled them out to make "mid-winter Christmas" cookies. They weren't too horrible to roll out, obviously not as easy as an actual roll out cookie recipe. I think these would be even more divine thicker, like in the photo. I also think they could benefit from some vanilla extract or some sort of flavoring. Thanks for the recipe Jennifer, it's a keeper!
