Glazed Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2014
I was surprised at how this bread only had a very slight lemon taste (because of the lemon syrup at the end). To get the lemon flavor I was going for, I had to add another two lemons worth of juice with sugar to make a glaze. The texture is also very dense, which I suppose a bread would be - I was hoping for a lighter texture. I would make this again, but add two lemons worth of juice to the batter & then do another lemon glaze on top as well. Thanks for the recipe!

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Good basic bread recipe! It didn't blow my mind, but definitely a stable recipe. Thanks so much for sharing!

Fluffy and Delicious Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
Delicious pancakes - nice and fluffy. My critiques are: There is too much vinegar in the recipe, and slightly too much salt. I did try the recipe with the amounts of vanilla and cinnamon recommended & they were really good. I added more milk because the hubs and I wanted a thinner pancake. I think next time I'll try these plain, without the cinnamon and vanilla (and my adjustments above). Thank you for the recipe!

These were good, not as much flavor as I was hoping for - but still tasty!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
These are pretty delicious! A little cakey for my liking, but that's what they're supposed to be like right? I didn't have cloves, so just used cinnamon and nutmeg - turned out delicious. Good balance of spice and pumpkin and sweetness. Definitely add cinnamon to the icing. These are pretty little cookies :)

Soft-N-Fluffy hamburger buns

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
Love these buns - perfect for hamburgers! I added some dough conditioner. I did notice that these rose into very tall round balls......so if you want the traditional hamburger bun shape, make sure you shape them into a round disc type shape before they rise the second time.

Spicy Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
This recipe works. It's not the best flavor ever, though it has a good head start. I had to add quite a few more flavors to the mix to enjoy (sesame oil, lime, more ginger & garlic etc). I don't really enjoy take out orange chicken, I prefer authentic Asian....maybe this is why I didn't enjoy it? Thank you for the recipe!

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2013
These are so delicious! Buttery and pretty much perfect....this will be my go to recipe for biscuits now! One thing I noticed is that the servings are wrong, by about half. I doubled this recipe & it made 25 mini biscuits.

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
Good basic recipe, I would amend it if I made it again though. Less baking soda (they were too cakey for me), and 1/2tsp more vanilla extract. Thanks!!

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
Love this - I mushed some of the blueberries, used diluted OJ (didn't have enough left), and cut the sugar down to approx 1/4C and used approx 1/4C Honey/Agave....so a lot lower in sugar and still delicious! And oddly enough, I think i'd like this one better without the cinnamon.

Lemon Macaroon Tartlets

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
Lovely! Nice different kind of crust, I did add some of the egg yolk because my mixture was too dry - I would say to use large eggs for the egg whites. I filled these with lemon curd - they were a winner with my hubby!!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
This is a delicious recipe, but the sugar is way too much. I cut it down to 1/8C which was still a nice sweet flavor. I actually prefer savory rolls so I would cut the sugar down even further next time. If you like a touch of sweetness, stick with 1/8C it's perfect (in my opinion). Also - I made the dough in my BREAD MACHINE for those of you wondering if you can successfully do that :) It worked like a charm! Thank you Sherlie!

Apple Crisp II

Nice recipe but I think the proportions are a bit off. Also since you use half of the crumble on the bottom, it means there's not quite enough for the top.

I love this pastry cream, it's so easy to put together (as long as you don't burn it!) & it's so delicious. Make sure to use good quality vanilla extract, the flavor shines through beautifully!

Banoffee

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
Unfortunately the measurements for the crust on this pie is way off. There is about 3x more butter than there should be & I don't need so much sugar in the mix either. I alsO found that the filling was very sweet (for me) so I'll add more bananas next time. The filling is a good base recipe to follow with some changes, but I'll stay away from the graham cracker crust.
