Hi there! I am Jess...I love to cook. I have a weekly menu that I prepare for my family and they all rate the meals so that I can improve! They love my cooking! I am not a big meat eater, I enjoy lots of veggies and very small portions of meat. Until recently I was a vegetarian, but I couldn't gain any weight so I decided to put a little fat back on the menu. I have two beautiful kids and I am a Navy wife to my wonderful husband Adam. I have a menagerie at my house...I do Great Dane rescue and I have my own business making primitive gifts and raggedy dolls...I also go to school full-time, I am a Psych Major, so life is busy! But I am never too busy to prepare a nice meal for my family!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything new...I love trying out new recipes. I prefer good old fashioned southern cooking, but I have switched to olive oil to cut back on my poor husbands cholesterol!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmothers house is my favorite place to go to eat. That woman can do some cooking!! We all get together on the holidays and eat one of "Nama's" fifty pies...lol. She cooks way too much for us and we have been spoiled rotten!!
My cooking triumphs
I can't really say that I have had one triumph in particular, every night that my family enjoys the meal I have prepared is a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I have had burnt cookies, and worst off a fallen buttermilk chocolate cake that I had to bake three times for my son's birthday...terrible experience...

Baked Corn I
WONDERFUL - oh this was delicious. I baked it for 45 minutes...it was perfect - thanks! I followed the recipe exactly - a lot of butter - oh but so good!

Quick Angel Hair with Basil Cream for One
This was wonderful! A perfect sauce. I did make a few revisions - I used 1/2 cup of whipping cream and 1/2 cup of milk - I don't like pasta that is too rich...I also added some chopped mushrooms, fresh diced tomatoes as a topping and I added a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce. The taste was wonderful and my husband was licking the plate! Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

Pan Seared Lemon Tilapia with Parmesan Pasta
Loved this!! It was the best I have ever had! I did add parmesan cheese to the fish as well...it made a nice crispy crust...thanks for the recipe!!
