Sweet and Sour Drumettes

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I love love love this sauce! I skipped frying the chicken and just baked 5 chicken thighs in a double recipe of the sauce. Next time, I will marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight to have even more flavorful meat, but even without doing this the chicken was incredibly tender and tasted amazing. I used the leftover sauce to flavor future dishes of shrimp, rice, potatoes, etc. I used half honey and half sugar for the sugar part of the recipe - just make sure to stir thoroughly to blend them into the liquid portion.

Sesame Thumbprint Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
These are great and so easy to make! I use a little less salt and try to pack as much preserve in the middle as I can (love the fruit flavor!) They're shortbread-type cookies so they're not supposed to be moist per se, but they break apart smoothly and melt in your mouth. My Nana has been making them for Christmas for years. Shame on you, "mmmdessert" for reviewing a recipe without ever making it!!

Creamy Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Yum! I didn't have sour cream so I replaced it with plain yogurt, which worked perfectly. Will definitely make again!

Carrie's Garlic Pesto Tuna Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
So great and easy - I doubled the recipe and kept it in tupperware in the fridge for sandwiches for the week. I added a bit more of the sauce (mayo, mustard & basil pesto) and also smeared some of it on the sides of the bread for extra moisture.

These were so easy and a huge hit - I brought them to two different parties and got rave reviews at each. I rolled half of them in cocoa powder and the remaining half in powdered sugar. Delicious!!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Delicious! I don't have a grill so I cooked it in foil packets in the oven for 15 minutes at 425 degrees as suggested by a previous reviewer. This was wonderful - love the marinade and will definitely be making this again!

Delicious! I added garlic powder and other italian seasonings at the end, as well diced tomatoes for more texture. So glad there are plenty of leftovers - yum!

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

This was delicious - I love strawberries in salads. I also added pears, but I'm sure most other fruits will work well with this dressing.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
Great! Next time I will add something to thicken the sauce - most of it ended up at the bottom of the bowl. Otherwise, the flavor was amazing, and I even skipped out on the cashews since my mom is allergic.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Yum! For soft and chewy cookies, don't push them down very far (just enough to establish their place on the tray)... take out immediately after 8 minutes; even if they don't look done, they continue cooking on the pan and after 5 minutes to cool, they're perfect! If you prefer them crispier, cook the full 10 minutes and push them down a bit if you'd like. I like mine soft and chewy, but they're good either way. Also, this batch made a lot more than 24 cookies for me, but that was fine with my family!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Great seasonings, but next time I won't cook for a full 10 minutes... I like my asparagus to have a little crunch to it and this was just a little too soft.

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
i use frozen blueberries and this sauce is fantastic - i put it on waffles, english muffins, oatmeal... even eat it on its own when my sweet tooth gets cravings. i make it in advance so that the flavors have time to settle in, but it's good out of the pot too! :)
