About this Cook
Married 24 years (in 2009) Mom of 5, love outdoors, animals, and especially time with family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially breads. I also love cake baking and decorating.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Decorating batches of sugar cookies with my cousins at Christmas when we were kids, my Dad's homemade ice cream (hand cranked of course), and making pies for pie baking contests with my kids when they were growing up.
My cooking triumphs
Baking and decorating a several wedding cakes for friends, making an awesome black forest cake. (even making the shaved chocolate curls for the top) Happily cooking for a family of seven for all these years and still having my kids say how awesome the meal was every time. Winning first prize in a dessert contest with an awesome chocolate cake, winning the prize money was an amazing feeling!
My cooking tragedies
Croissants! Tasted good, but not like the ones I had while living in France. Just got a new recipe, so hopefully I will succeed in making these. Also, I remember when I was learning to cook, and making biscuits. They were so hard my Dad told me to be careful not to drop them as they might break the floor. lol!!!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
Made the exact same recipe from the Hershey's website. Made it as written, except that I substituted pecans for the walnuts, and used half white chocolate and half semisweet chocolate chips. This is an excellent recipe. I would give it more stars if possible. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Quick Quiche
Made it as written except for substituting sausage for the bacon. (it was what I had on hand) It was a hit with my family, we had it for brunch. What a wonderful base for many wonderful combinations of ingredients, I know this will be on my recipe list for a long time to come. Thanks for sharing a great recipe.
