Olive Dip

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
I was looking for a recipe to use up some cheese and found this one. I had all of the ingredients so I thought I'd give it a try. Really liked it. I used red onion, but other than that made it exactly as written. Will make again, for sure

Deluxe Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
Nothing special about this casserole. I would probably make it again to use up leftover ham. I used mixed veggies in stead of peas but other than that I followed the recipe.

Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I thought the pesto gave this pizza plenty of flavor !!! It wasn't bland at all. Since feta isn't my husband's fave I used mozzarella. A keeper for us !!!

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Pretty good. It felt like it was missing something, though. I would still make it again. It may be one of those soups that tastes better after it sits a while. I used a bag of cole slaw cabbage mix and it worked well.

Sopapilla Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
All of the prior reviews were right - what a hit !!! I also took this to a Cinco De Mayo potluck at work. I had many requests for the recipe. I was kind of embarrassed to let everyone know how simple it was. A keeper for sure.

Beer-Baked Irish Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Very good recipe. I didn't think the allspice tasted odd at all, as a previous reviewer did. I substituted frozen pearl onions for the chopped onion. I also baked the stew in the oven for 4 hours at 250 degrees only because I was home for the day. I would make it in the crock pot if I was working or going to be out for the day. I'll have to remember this recipe for a cold winter day.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I think this is a good oatmeal cookie recipe. Not too much oatmeal, it doesn't dominate the cookie. Very moist also. I made it with M&Ms and chocolate chips over the holidays. Both were excellent.

Easy and good. I used the suggestions to increase the applesauce and decrease the oil. Worked well.

No Roll Sugar Cookies

Good and easy - my kind of cookie !!! I made the recipe exactly as written. They are more crispy than soft and chewy. I would make again for sure.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I too used mushroom soup because it made more sense than cream of chicken and added 8 oz of mushrooms. I was home, so I baked it in the oven at 300 for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. My husband said this one is a keeper.

Chinese Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I misplaced a chinese chicken salad recipe that I really liked from an old Wesson Oil cookbook. This is the closest I could find. Pretty good. I added sesame oil, green onions and celery and substituted sesame seeds for the almonds and sugar substitute for the brown sugar.

Pork Chop Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Very good. I slow roasted the pork in the oven before adding to the soup to develop the flavor. I omitted the flour and used green beans instead of broccoli. Will make again on a cold winter day.

Glazed Nuts

Couldn't be an easier recipe. I thought the cloves would be overpowering, but the spice mixture is right on. I added some cayenne for a little kick. Would make again.

Orange-Chip Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Very good. To lighten it up a bit I omitted the chocolate chips and used skim milk instead of buttermilk and unsweetened applesauce in place of the oil. Still tasted great, but my loaves didn't rise very well. Would make again.
