Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
Excellent! No mushrooms for us and I used fresh baby spinach. I just wilted it in my hot bacon grease before cooking the onions. Very rich!

The Best Slow Cooker Cream Corn

So tasty! My family thought it was a little too thick, but you can easily remedy with a little additional milk.

Salisbury Steak

Very good! Like other reviewers, I doubled the gravy (except ketchup) and added cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix. Mushrooms would also be great.

Absolutely delicious! My chops took about 10 mins longer to get nice and tender but they were pretty big. Very good and easy!

Chef John's Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
Good flavor, but much too dry. If I ever try this again I'll add a lot more juice in the beginning - maybe 1/2cup? Or even perhaps a full 1cup of juice... I'd just have to try it. When you flip there isn't any hot liquid to soak into the cake. The best part is the edge of the cake where it caramelized with the topping.

Very good! We've been making this recipe for most of life although we do not usually add breadcrumbs or egg.

Really good! I don't think it's quite a five star recipe but definitely good and the family liked it.

Old-Fashioned Cheese Potatoes

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
Great basic cheese potatoes!! Kids especially love the American cheese in this recipe. I think they would be great with Cheddar or other cheeses, too, so I may try variations next time. Yummy as is though!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Very good, basic recipe! If you plan to shred the chicken 2 lg (or 3 med) breasts are plenty. As much as we love onions we prefer to leave them out of this recipe. Also prefer Bisquick dumplings instead of canned.

Fruit Ambrosia

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Absolutely scrumptious! As other reviewers noted, the recipe makes a lot of juice. I reduced lime juice to 1/4c; used 2c coconut, 2c marshmallows, 2 cans oranges. Added a whole pint of strawberries and 1/3c pecans.

D-I-V-I-N-E. Truly delicious and extremely chocolately. The marshmallow is so good, too. I also think this would be excellent made in other flavors like butterscotch.

Very good, but recipe calls for way more cheese mixture than needed. Next time I'll reduce by 1/3 or 1/2.

Loved this recipe! I left out the vinegar since some of my family doesn't like it, but otherwise followed the recipe. Great flavor!

Mother's Pasties

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
Original is 3stars : LOVE the concept, but we thought the recipe needs a little work. The pie itself is pretty dry and the crust cooks too long. Next time I will definitely add a small amt of beef gravy plus a veggie like peas. Also I will pre-cook the filling and just bake in the oven long enough to cook the pie crust. 5star update : Made this again with changes and it was delicious! As stated above, precook the filling. Shortly before filling is tender, mix in a can of peas (or frozen) and about 2c beef gravy (use a mix or make a quick gravy w beef broth). Fill per recipe and bake just until crust is golden and tender. Yum!
