Best Ever Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
These were WONDERFUL! I used a bit less mayo and cracker crumbs than the recipe called for, and I do not think they could have been improved upon any further. I used lump blue crab meat and thought it was perfect for this. I will definitely make these again.

Italian Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
I loved this pasta salad! I have never tried a pasta salad I really liked before, ever, until I tried this one. This is definitely a keeper. I will FOR SURE make this again! The only change I made was to use half an onion instead of a whole one. Also, as a note, Parmesan cheese is listed in the ingredients, but then never listed in the instructions. Easy enough to figure out when to add it, but just thought I'd mention it.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Awesome! I used a chuck roast for this and it came out perfectly. I will definitely make this again.. and again and again!

Crawfish Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
This was phenomenal! I made it with double cream cheese and reduced the amount of green onions a bit. I could not have improved on it in any way! Served with hot asiago cheese bread, this dish was total perfection.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
This was wonderful! Next time, I will double or even triple the amount of jalapenos, but this is seriously delicious even if you follow the directions to a T.

Pasta with Salami and Peas

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I love this! I changed nothing about it, and I thought it was perfect. Much spicier than I expected.. which is a good thing! Yes, it is very greasy, but sometimes you're just in the mood for that. In fact (and you all might get on me for saying this), due to how greasy this dish is, I might think it's the perfect hangover food! Either way, though, I thought this was delicious and will 100% make it again.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
This was perfect and delicious! Exactly the broccoli and cheese soup recipe I was looking for! I've never worked with Velveeta/processed cheese loaf before, so I was a bit apprehensive about this recipe, but I'm glad I tried it. 5 stars.

Chicken Caesar Pitas

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
This was great, and not difficult at all to make (well, I had two sets of hands in the kitchen). To all the people that didn't make the croutons -- you're missing out! They added just a bit of crunch, without being as hard as store-bought croutons, and really improved the overall texture. I wasn't originally impressed by the idea of boiling chicken, but it worked out very well. Will definitely make again!

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Wonderful! Sublime! As good as the cream of crab soup at any restaurant! The only change I made was to halve the Old Bay and use 1.3 lbs of crab meat instead of 1 lb. Turned out incredible!

Turkey-Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
These were totally delicious! I'm not a huge fan of ground beef, but my husband misses stuffed peppers, so I've been hunting for a stuffed pepper recipe that doesn't call for ground beef. My first attempt, with a different recipe on this site, was a total failure -- but this was wonderful! The only change I made was to add lots of extra cheese. Other than that, everything was the same. These are great!

Spicy Maryland Crab Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This is great! I took 3 tbsp Old Bay down to 1, and sprinkled some on the top as garnish. I kept the rest the same. This is truly delicious and I would recommend it to anyone with a taste for crab.

Mange-Tout (Sugar Snap Peas) Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This was delicious! I added a bit too much Gorgonzola on accident, but the flavor was still wonderful. Yes, the sauce is quite thick, so next time I'll thin it out with some milk, but the taste is great. It was even better the next day, after refrigerating.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I LOVE THIS!!! I made a few very minor changes: 1) added a bit of dried mustard powder, 2) added a bit of whole milk, 3) cut the bread crumbs by half. This is DIVINE! I love this texture of macaroni and cheese. If you are looking for the smooth, creamy kind, this is NOT the recipe you want to do, but if you're looking for the kind to evoke memories of a down home potluck, you can't get much better than this recipe. Will DEFINITELY make this again.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
This was good, but did not taste like pepper steak as I expected. If I make this again, I will probably take another commenter's advice and add the green peppers at the very end, because they were very very mushy.

This was very tasty. I made mine in the slow cooker and added potatoes and an onion with an hour left to go.

Hot Clam Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
This was quite good. Next time I'll try it with jalapenos for sure! My only problem is that there wasn't enough bread for the dip, so we were burning our fingers tearing the bread bowl apart near the end, haha.

Easy Cheesy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
This turned out delicious, but the recipe was quite vague on cooking times. I heated the soup mixture just until the cheese melted into it, and I baked the whole concoction for 15 minutes. I made a few adjustments. 1) I only used 8 ounces of noodles, 2) I used 2 cans of tuna, 3) I substituted asparagus for mixed vegetables, and only used half as much, 4) I added just a pinch of mustard powder, 5) I added 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese to the topping. Haha, on paper, it looks like a lot of adjustments! Anyway, we really loved this, and the whole tray was gone in 15 minutes!

Bunyaculta

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
It was extremely delicious, and also easy to make. However, the soupy texture really got to me, so I'm not sure if I'll make it again. To be fair, my fiance loved it so much that he wanted it for two meals in a row! Also, this makes much more than 2 servings! I would say at least 6. So be forewarned.

Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
This was pretty tasty. I didn't change the recipe at all. There was nothing particularly outstanding about it, but not bad at all either. Good for a side dish.

Deb's Scallops Florentine

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
This recipe was quite good. I followed the directions to a T, and the only problem I had was that the amount of Old Bay was positively overpowering. I'll either use just a sprinkling, or omit it altogether next time. Other than that, it was absolutely delicious.
