Delicious Stuffed Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This recipe was very good, in my opinion. As the 'author' of the recipe said, it is a basic recipe, designed to tweak. I did customize to my own taste and added both shredded onion as well as garlic powder to the recipe. I can think of all sorts of ways to change it up and enjoy it all. Thanks Tallya for your contribution!

Chicken Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I give it three stars because I just don't trust my midwestern palate. I made this recipe exactly as called for. It was a lot of work. In the end I was so disappointed because I really didn't care for it. My husband however, thought it was great. I tasted 'bitter' very strongly whereas my husband (who loves bitter things) did not tasted bitter and really liked it. I wish I could pinpoint what in the recipe caused my bitter backlash, then I would try modifying it. So, to summarize, I'd give this a one star, my husband would give it 5 stars, so three stars it is.

Cream Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I grew up with peas this way, minus the sugar. They are one of my comfort foods. They were the only food I would eat for 2 weeks after my tonsillectomy when I was 7.

Seafood Tomato Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I doctored it up a bit. I had tilapia filets,so that is what I used. I added a can of sliced mushrooms and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the browning butter/onion mixture. Since I had it, I tossed in my last 2 tablespoons of cooking sherry, and added about 2 more tablespoons of white cooking wine. Then I drained the can of tomatoes a bit before adding them. After adding the cream of mushroom soup I added a 1/2 cup of half and half instead of milk. I think I would either add salt or more garlic next time. (My husband votes for more garlic!) All in all it was tasty, the fish didn't taste fishy, and there is lots of sauce left over to have on spaghetti or linguini another night. Maybe next time I'll add some peeled and deveined shrimp to the mix!
