Beghrir (Moroccan Pancakes)

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
I'm sorry, this didn't turn out so great. I love the idea of the holey tops but couldn't get passed texture. I only made 2 just to try, then made the rest as crepes to use up the batter because I don't want it to go to waste. I'm sure there's potential in this recipe with minor tweaks.

Potato Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Disappointed! Had leftover potatoes to use and stumbled upon this recipe my husbands granny used to make. The only change I made was to insert a crouton in the middle. Its very easy to make but found this stuff too eggy and not the right texture.

Maui Girl's Mango Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
Lovely pie and easy to put together! Make sure to taste your mangoes before adjustig the sugar. I used champagne mangoes (all I had) and omitted the lemon just because I felt it didn't need any. I made this into a single serving (1 cup mangoes) for my daughter using a remekin and made French Pastry Pie Crust (AR). I think this would be a perfect summer pie, cooled, and have it with an ice cream.

Shish Tawook Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This stuff is soo good! I haven't had a good grilled chicken breast in awhile. I made as is (so unusual of me) and it came out so moist and flavorful. I love the lemon taste. The only change I would make is to cube them smaller. Thank you Noor!

Grilled Garlic Artichokes

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
These were just okay. I had steamed them then grilled. I also inserted sliced garlic inside the leaves to boost the garlic flavor but turns out to be just a hint of garlic flavor. It didn't quite taste like the one we loved at Santa Barbara. I will find another recipe.

Soft Garlic Knots

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
These were so good and very easy to do! Of course, I had used my bread machine for the kneading part (20 min) and followed the rest. The only thing I would change next time is to slightly warm the garlic glaze in a sauce pan or microwave to mellow out the raw garlic. Thank you for sharing, Baking Nana!

Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Ay muy caliente! Just added a squirt of lime and dashes of salt. We had it with our turkey burgers and also topped it with "Christopholofigus's Infamous Jalapeno Relish" (w/out tequila & dill)...hmm I wonder if I can mix those 2 and call it chipotle mayo relish.

Butterkuchen

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
The best part is the topping, which I had adjusted the sugar by the way because I thought that was way too much. I have also cut the dough down to half just to test it out using a smaller baking pan. It rose beautifully (1 hr of rising) and the surface dotted with bubbles.... a good sign. Well, the results came out dry and bland. I think this would be good as a bar. It was just too much dry dough, so next time I would use a 9x13 pan using half the recipe.

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
It was alright. Having made too much corn recipes (AR's) with bolder taste, I consider this a lighter and safe version.

Quick Start Breakfast Drink

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Yummy breakfast! The only change I made was to omit the yogurt because I wanted to be thinner. My frozen bananas already made it thick enough. I also added a couple of ice cubes in it.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Man, this stuff is good! Just little changes due to availabilities such as half milk and half whipping cream & no parsley. I don't think I miss the parsley at all and since I used whipping cream to it, I omitted the flour. I also used hungarian paprika because it needed to be used.

Basic Pasta

Super easy and rolls out very well through the pasta machine. I doubled the recipe and got at least 32 (2-2.5 in) ravioli's.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
Lol what an idi@t I am, I forgot to add sugar! I was going to add half white sugar, half brown sugar. It still turned out very moist but I was glad that I added streusel topping prior to baking. I'm okay with it that the batter was sugarless but I knew it wouldn't pass with my daughter so what I did was slice it half, spread it with banana chocolate spread and sandwiched them....mmm yum. Thought that worked out well. I will definetly be adding this to my recipe folder...of course with the sugar next time!

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Nice rub! Since I using a smaller brisket, I altered the recipe. I baked it instead because it was too late to be using a slow cooker. What I did was rubbed it with everything (except worshitershire/bbq sauce) then wrapped with heavy duty foil. Few minutes before being done, I basted it with Sweet Baby Rays and broiled it to carmelized. I really think it was too peppery so cut that down next time. Though, my daughter didn't seem to mind at all.

Raspberry Custard Kuchen

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
It was good, but not quite the custard type my husband is looking for. We hated the crust like many of the crust for the kuchen here in AR. I have tried a few kuchen recipe already and the closest ones would be this and the plum custard kuchen. Of course you can use whatever fresh fruit but I'm looking for the right crust and custard consistency. I used a 9" springform pan, placing parchment paper on the bottom and placing the ring over the paper and baked it for an 1 hr so.
