Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Daughter loved it. I had used half chocolate chips and reeses chips. The batter itself was okay; wasn't quite fluffy like other pancakes.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Really love the chocolate cake part! As for the filling, it was descent. I had used regular chocolate chips because that's all I had so it sunked in the bottom (or is it supposed to be like that?) and my husband said the gooey chocolate is the best part.

Kraut Bierocks

We loved this! No side dish necessary. Not even sure what goes with this but me and my husband dipped it with mustard. I didnt shred my cabbage; I chiffonade (sp?) it widely. I think I'll add more cabbage next time. Love the dough as well, altough, I had to add way more than it called for. Halved the recipe and got at least 15 bierocks if using 2 tablespoons of filling for a 1/4-1/3 cup dough (about an ice cream scooper size). The dough wrapped around the filling so nicely. Just make sure not to roll it out too thin because it will stretch a bit while baking. Also, I did an egg wash.

Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)

Wow, so good! Made this as written but used my bread machine for kneading only. I made only one loaf just for to try out and wished we had doubled the brown sugar mixture, but it's still lovely as is. They're best eaten right out of the oven when they are still hot.

Mie Goreng - Indonesian Fried Noodles

Keeper! After tasting this, my daughter requested that I make this for her bday lol which is in 4.5 months. Little minor changes such as boiling the noodles for a minute or until it starts to seperate, used garlic powder (did not have garlic salt), and added salt to taste only. Although, the sauce tasted amazing, I think I will cut it down, just enough to coat everything. Thank you!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Easy and delicious! I had leftover steak from last night (Rock's T-bone Steaks from AR), cut it thinly and set it to the side while I sauteed the onions and mushrooms. I totally forgot the oregano but don't miss it. I love the garlic mayo, it completes it.

Yummy roast! I wasn't too excited about this recipe at first because it had a weird smell but it turned out very tasty. After reading reviews, I made these adjustments as well: 1/2 cup madria sangria (I didn't want to open up my red wine), 1/2 cup beef broth, can of rotel w/ chiles, small can green chile, red pearl onions, and kosher salt to taste.

Tofu Keema

I love tofu and I'm always looking for different ways to cook them. I never thought of mincing tofu at all. Thought it was clever. Overall, I thought this dish needed more ginger and salt. I wanted to add turmeric but I was out. I did not add peas because I didn't have any. Also, I felt it needed a bit of broth as well because it started to dry out with all the moisture being absorbed, so I added a quarter of light coconut milk. I will definately be keeping this recipe for my meatless meals. Thanks!

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Pretty good! I did follow other peeps suggestions using half white sugar half brown sugar, and used apple sauce instead of margarine. I also added dashes of cinnamon, a bit of cardamom, and walnuts. My bread came out slightly dense but still moist but I think I need new baking sodas.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

My daughter loved it! She's a big fan of pretzels and this is the right texture that she's looking for. I did have to let the dough rise a little longer but I'm fine with it. My bottoms burnt a little so I will double pan it next time and see what happens or probably I wasn't paying attention.

Hash Brown Quiche

A nice base! My bottom hash were a bit mushy even when I baked them 5 minutes longer. I would have liked it crispier and golden brown. Since I had my pancake skillet out already, I gently removed the quiche (cooled enough to handle) and transferred it to the skillet to brown the bottoms. But next time use less butter or bake it way longer. For the toppings, we used bacon, half gruyere half cheddar cheese, and green onions....yum!

Paalu Mithai (Milk Sweet)

Very interesting indeed! I love sweet but it wasn't the right balance of sweetness and found that the cardamom to be very overpowering. I am the only one in the house can tolerate various spices but not for everyone else. Oh, I didn't have ghee so I made my own using Alton Brown's recipe.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Amazing bread! I decided to make this because someone had posted in the 'buzz' that hers turned out dense and seeked for help. After reading a few reviews, I used half bread flour half all-purpose flour and cut the salt down to 1 teaspoon. I had used the bread machine for the kneading part only (20min) and rised the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, covered with a damp towel inside the oven with lights on. Since the house was cold, I turned on the warm setting (boost the heat) until it starts to warm up but not too warm. Then turned it off. It doubled in 30 minutes. Thought that was awesome because normally I let dough rise way longer than that. After shaping it, I placed in a baking pan which I smeared with teensy bit of oil, dusted cornmeal, and covered with a damp towel then placed it in the oven. The bread was soo soft with slightly chewy crust just like the convenient store.

Chipotle Thyme Corn

Wow, this stuff is good and very easy as well! We're always looking for different ways to cook corn. I had used the adobo sauce instead because I didn't realize that I was supposed to finely chop the chilies but it it still turned out fine. Also, my family thought that the thyme was a bit much, so next time, I will tone it down. This is a keeper! Thank you, NYRudy
