Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Very good. Definately a great base, well, I did cheat a bit like not having grapes, used applesauce in a cup, and go-gurts. This green drink reminds me of our favorite drink called Naked Green Machine.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Good but I have found better banana bread recipes using sour cream. A little dissapointed though because my daughter said it was dry and couldn't really taste the bananas as much....very unusual because thats a whole lot of bananas compared to the banana bread recipes I have used. Although, I do like the sugar/cinnamon outer crust.

Crescent Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Very cute but tasted okay. My kiddo loved it though. I also have to agree with 'paxerit' about the crescent taste dominating the flavor. To get more pieces, I rolled it the long side.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Awesome...not dry at all. Probably needed a little more sugar or maybe I should've sprinkled with sugar after baking. I think its a matter of which fruit i put in though. I didn't use any dried fuits, instead, I used blueberries and lemon zest (inspired by the lemon blueberry scones - AR). My husband likes it packed evenly with blueberries because he didn't care too much for the bread part. All in all, it was good. Oh, one last note, I was getting afraid that the bottoms were starting to turn dark brown really fast while waiting for the tops to turn at least golden brown, but right when a hint of golden turned out, I pulled it out of the oven and quickly transferred it to a cooling rack. You know what, I like the crispness from the bottoms...yum! I didn't have that burnt taste at all.

My family thought it was just okay. It didn't have the right custurdy consistency that I wanted and it was missing something.

Crazy Dipped Pretzel Rods

Awesome! I use the white choco-chips/shortening as a guide....microwave for 15-20 sec intervals, stirring in between...perfect.

Garlic Pita Bread Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
My family attacked these! They're so good and easy. I used a brush to quickly dab the pitas with the butter mixture. We had it with spaghetti and my daughter would open the pitas then stuff it.

Dreamy Nighttime Drink

It was just prefect. I needed something with honey to soothe my daughters throat. I double dosed the honey. Can't wait to try it with her favorite rasberry honey from our local honey store the next time I visit.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Oct.23,2011 -- I only made half a batch to test for a party. I had refridgerated it for a while before taking it out and boy, once it was on the table ....... gone! I had used white chocolate and I think it made a big difference. Since these were rich, I think I will make them a tad bit smaller. I also think these balls are better than than cake balls. Update: Dec.28,2011 - Since, I like using white chocolate, you must use a double broiler. Also, take a plastic fork, break out the 2 middle tines and it  makes the perfect "dipper"

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
I actually had fun making this and it was sooo easy! My daughter loved watching it puff up. Next time, I would like to roll it out to 4.5-5 inches for a little heartier pita. I will not slightly brown it again as it came out crispy and took awhile to soften.

Christopholofigus's Infamous Jalapeno Relish

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
Ay, caramba! Lol yea it's spicy alright. I followed everything except the dill. Updated Jan.11,2012: These became a staple at our house. Sometimes we add a little bit of pepperoncini's to it. We have used it for hot dogs, burgers, eggs, and even italian beef for sandwiches (AR).

Mallorcan Ensaimadas

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
To me it was average, but would need a little work on it next time I make this. I didn't really get the rise that I wanted for it to be fluffy, instead, it was a bit dense but soft. I couldn't get 15 pieces from the flour amount listed. I got at least 10 small ones. Also, I did put more work to this in forming a traditional dough to get that swirl pattern when you bite to it: roll out the individual doughball until you get a thin dough circle, brush it with shortening or softened butter, roll it up into a swiss roll, let it rest/rise for awhile, then gently form a loose coil.

Grandma Sal's Peach Kuchen

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
Pretty tasty but this is not the right kuchen I'm looking for. It was more like a thin bar and I'm not looking for that. I would add a bit more sugar to the crust next time. Oh, we liked it better the next day.

Coconut-Cornflake Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Wow I think I like these better than an ordinary coconut macaroons. I would call it flourless candied macaroons :). Yes, half the sugar because you have plenty of sweetness with the coconut flakes and cornflakes (used frosted flakes by the way). I forgot to use parchment paper, instead, I used a non-stick pan and it was fine. These cookies seem to fall apart as you slide the spatula under it, let it cool & rest for a few more minutes to firm up a little and also to maintain their shape, then remove from the sheet.

Wedding Gift Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
Feb 28, 20012: I've made this several times since Aug 2011 and I keep forgetting to review this...so sorry. This spaghetti sauce is wonderful!!! This makes alot, which is good because I get to freeze for next time use. I have a few favorites that I have kept of different types of sauces from fresh to unique but after trying this recipe, I threw out a couple that calls for beef/sausages (including the high rated one). The only changes I made was to omit the rosemary as we don't care for it too much but my own blend of italian seasonings do have a touch of rosemary in it. I also adjust the water if I'm low on the tomato paste or sometimes i would omit the water, use the same amount of tomato sauce and adjust the tomato paste to 3 to 5 tablespoons. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Update: I have made this into a casserole for a party. I mixed in the sauce and spaghetti sauce together (1 lb and a quarter pasta), place half of it, srinkle mozzarella cheese, and place the rest of the spaghetti mixture. Bake at 350 for at least 20 minutes.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
We loved it! Even using 1/4 c. of soy sauce, we thought it was a bit salty. Maybe next time I will use low-sodium soy sauce. We also thought that it was a little dry. It's all good though.

CoCo Peango MockTail

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Perfect summer drink! I've been thinking about this recipe for a while now because I love any nectar drinks especially peach and mangoes which we love. My daughter went nuts over these and so did I. This tasted like the one i used to order a long time ago before it was discontinued. So glad I found this. Now for my husband, he thought that it was a bit thick for his taste so he just added mixed berry juice and wah-la. Thank you!
