Cranberry Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
The flavor was heaven! The cranberry flavor was subtle but VERY good! Next time I think I'll try using the cranberry sauce with chunks in it. It was perfect with the 'fanned baked potato' recipe. This will be our staple pot roast recipe!

Lemon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
The first few bites were heaven then the lemon started to get too strong because I only used 1/4 cup of sugar. Next time I will use 1/3 cup of sugar instead. I also used Italian bread crumbs as well as a panko. It goes excellent with rice!

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I made recipe with ground turkey and filled the tomato paste can with water and added that. It was a little dry on the bottom but not bad. It was rather bland. I'm chalking that up to the tomato sauce I used and the turkey meat. May make again but not for a while and will for sure make it differently. Possibly add more garlic too.

I added broccoli as well and put in panko crumbs, paprika and garlic salt and it was still rather bland in my opinion.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This was very similar in taste to the Cranberry Pot Roast recipe that I LOVE. The french dressing didn't add much of a dimension in my opinion. Still tasted fantastic though!

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I used one can of cream of celery and 1 can of cream of mushroom and added half a can of milk and the creaminess was just right. I also added broccoli.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Excellent! I also added rosemary, thyme, and the leek stalks. I also added about 1 can of water as well to offset the couscous.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I love balsamic especially with chicken, tomatoes and red onions together but this just didn't do it for me. I'd rather just have plain roasted potatoes with herbs.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I altered it a bit. Amazingly enough I couldn't find a 16 oz can of baked beans so I had to use a 28 oz can which worked wonderfully. I used a 15 oz can of drained, diced tomatoes and 4 oz of tomato paste. I also added a 6 oz can of diced green chili's. For spices I added quite a bit of chili powder, garlic salt and powder and cumin. Because I wasn't sure how the texture was going to be I also chopped up one portobello mushroom. I omitted the corn, celery, parsley, oregano and basil. I cooked on low for 6 hours and it was perfect! Ended up having two bowls for dinner! It ended up having a wonderful sweet flavor.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
This recipe was just okay in my opinion. Had a nice mild flavor but nothing spectacular. I did however double the OJ, soy sauce, and garlic powder but not the dry onion soup mix. I also marinated it for an hour before baking. The chicken was juicy (I used boneless/skinless chicken breasts) and baked for an hour (probably could have baked for about 45 minutes). If I make this again I think I'll cut back on the OJ and add more soy sauce. Otherwise it was good for a quick and easy dinner.

Watermelon and Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I decreased the sugar by half and added a bit more strawberries. Sooooooooooo yummy! I will most certainly have to make this with vodka next time! The lemon gives it that little something special.

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Instead of mayo and mustard I put in a can of cream of mushroom soup. I also laid a few leaves of spinach on the dough before putting the chicken mixture down. This is a great recipe!

Garlic Prawns

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I followed another review and I heated up the marinade mixture and boiled it up. I did add extra garlic in the marinade and used OJ because I didn't have an orange. I then added the prawns. It was a great meal with roasted asparagus and whole wheat couscous!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
Freezing the cabbage was a GENIUS idea! HIGHLY recommend doing that! The recipe itself was great. Next time I will make more of the sauce mixture and add it to the inside of the rolls with the meat as well as add some garlic.

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
I LOVE white rice but I've been trying to eat healthier. I'm not a fan of brown rice but I tried this and loved it! I used 2 1/2 cups chicken broth and 1/2 cup of water. I also used several cloves of fresh minced garlic. Yum!
