About this Cook
My maternal grandmother was an amazing cook, baker, pickle maker, candy maker. My mother is a great cook and baker. I was spoiled in this area so I never really got in the kitchen and tried it myself. I dabbled a bit here and there but never got into it. Now that I've moved out of mom and dad's house and had my boyfriend move in with me I've become the cooking queen. I love trying new recipes and tweaking them to my liking. I also love making new recipes with new ingredients that I've never had before. I'm not home very often as I'm a flight attendant. So I don't cook very many times a week but when I do I usually have a good time doing it and enjoying the results.
My favorite things to cook
I love using tomatoes in recipes. My new favorite side dish is quinoa. I LOVE making soups. They are so easy and filling and it's the main dish that usually doesn't require any side dishes! Dinner, done!
My cooking triumphs
Creating a squash and eggplant lasagna. De-lish!
My cooking tragedies
Attempting a brown rice and mushroom soup. It turned out tasting extremely bland. Not a good dinner night.

Teriyaki Onion Burgers
These were made even more delicious by using organic, grass fed beef! I also used a pineapple teriyaki sauce/marinade that I have had lying around unopened.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I added more soy sauce and ketchup. I only added about 1tbps of sugar. Instead of a regular onion, I used a sweet onion and I added chopped up carrots into the crockpot as well. I did brown the meat before putting it in the crockpot.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak
I used real minced garlic instead of garlic salt and used red, orange and yellow bell peppers as well as green. The meat came out so tender and delicious. I WILL be making this again! Next time I will add another can of stewed tomatoes. I added cherry tomatoes in with the stewed but they didn't add much flavor.
