Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
This was so easy to make! Since it's the dead of winter, I used my George Foreman grill. That worked great! Flavor was good and very tasty! I will make this again.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This is good soup. I would suggest waiting till the soup is put together before adding salt. My chicken must have been a little salty, so adding salt wasn't a good idea. I only had frozen broccoli and sharp cheddar cheese. the flavor was good and comforting during these really cold days of winter.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
This was awesome! I read previous reviews and lined the pan with foil sprayed with Pam, doubled the sauce part of the recipe, and covered the chicken with foil. I agree that it was not too sweet or salty. I had regular soy sauce, and used the advice of one reviewer with 1/2 c. brown sugar and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. I almost forgot to double the cornstarch. I also used some of each cut of chicken ~ thighs and breasts. I believe the thighs were the absolute best! Covering the chicken with half of the sauce, baking it for 30 mins., then turning the chicken and putting the remainder sauce over the chicken was the best idea! This was so much better than the bottled sauce! I paired it with some homemade cole slaw. Thank you for such a good recipe. It's a keeper for me!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
This apple pie was as delicious as most of the reviewers have stated! Oh Wow! I added spices as recommended by other reviewers. It baked continually on 350, I used a frozen crust. Totally a winner for the upcoming holidays!

Peruvian Arroz con Pollo

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This is close to the recipe my mother-in-law makes. Her family is from Panama. One difference is that there is no wine in hers. Another is she uses no orange juice. I also add a bunch of flat-leafed parsley; chopped, capers, and use canned small peas.

Flea Terminator Dog Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Tiger, Buddy, and Hoover loved these. I hope they work with fleas later. It made a lot of little bone-shaped cut outs. They are still in the fridge in mid January and holding up well.

Turkey-Lentil Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
I didn't have any turkey sausage, so I used some grilled chicken breasts instead. The chili was a hit at my school's chili cookoff!

Comforting Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
This was very tasty. I like my chicken turned in the middle of baking because it looks so much more appealing. That was the only change I made to the recipe.

Italian Creme Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
After reading almost all of the reviewer's suggestions, I decided to dive right in and make this for my brother's birthday. I followed the suggestions for using parchment paper, but didn't for adding the chopped nuts to the cake. He loves pecans. It did make it difficult to cut without making a big mess. I also added a little coconut to the icing along with some more chopped pecans. His review was that it is a keeper recipe, an excellent cake and wonderful icing! BTW, he knew without asking if it was a cake made by scratch! It was that good. The rest of the family wasn't able to try the cake, so now I'm committed to a promise of making another one soon. I think I will!

This took longer to bake than it says, and we added canned green chilis. It gave it a real zing and the dish was a hit with the fam!

Easy Toffee

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I made this for some of our Christmas treats. I think the next time I make this, I will break up the crackers in half instead of laying them in rows on the baking sheet. I also think I will use the idea of graham crackers instead. I didn't have room in my freezer, so I put it in the refrigerator instead and it worked just fine, I just kept them in there a little longer than 15 mins. They were a big it.

Granola Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
I used a couple of the reviewers suggestions for adding this and that. I too added 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, some sunflower seeds, finely chopped pecans, and some ground flax meal. I didn't know I had cranberries, but I'll make this again and add all those things plus the cranberries and some cinnamon. This is the second time I've made this recipe and followed the original recipe the first time. It was good, but I wanted to add more "texture" to it, thus the changes. I agree with the one reviewer who mentioned that this is a good basic recipe for granola. I've rated it 5 stars because the recipe was really good.

Taco Casserole

I followed the advice of others and used some green chilis to liven the flavor up a bit. Rotel but no tomato soup. It was okay.

Juicy Peach Crisp

I doubled this recipe and used the suggestions to lessen the sugar and butter, half the flour and use 1/2 c. oats...it was wonderful. An excellent use of some really ripe peaches!

Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2013
I had seen some reviews of this cake before, but either didn't have all the different ingredients, or wasn't in the mood to bake. Today I baked. This is a really sweet cake, but it's really delicious! I made it just as it is in the recipe above and I will keep this one. I think it would be really good with some strawberries, peaches, or blueberries on the side. I'm impressed! Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Fortunately/unfortunately, I am like many others on this website...I "tweek" recipes to fit my tastes and pantry ingredients. I used most of the comments and some chicken I had already baked. There was one reviewers who said to use cream of chicken instead of mushroom, did that. I used French-style green beans instead of peas. I also used cheddar cheese, because it's what I had. This was ready in no time, easy to make and very tasty, my picky eater son loved it as well. I did add some garlic powder and onion powder. This is the kind of recipe that's easy to change and alter any way you want or need to change. I will make this again.

Millionaire Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
I needed a quickie recipe for dessert and had all the ingredients for these pies. I did follow the recipe though. Except I also added about 1/4 cup of shredded coconut and followed a reviewer's suggestion of adding 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. I also would make sure to drain/strain the pineapple, then drying it completely on a kitchen towel or paper towel before putting in the cream cheese mixture. It makes a huge difference! It didn't set fast enough for me, so I put the pies in the freezer for a couple of hours. I do suggest, however, to take it out and put in fridge before serving. It was a good pie. I liked the pie, but I will keep looking for another recipe like this.

Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
I was in a hurry and looking for a good chocolate pie recipe last night. This looked like the one my mother used to make that everyone in the family loves. If it's not, it runs a close second! Wow, it's rich, creamy and very good. I only had an 8" pie shell, so the remaining filling went into some pudding dishes (2). I usually don't have the exact ingrediets called for in some of these recipes and I substiute what I have instead. This time, I got to follow the recipe exactly and it was truely a good pie! I will keep this recipe and use it for the holidays! Thank you!
