Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
Delicious! I didn't have any wine so I substituted 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar instead, but otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. My husband and toddler loved it, too; we'll be eating this frequently! I loved how fresh it tasted!

Ken's Kickin' Posole

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
I have never had posole before, but this recipe is DELICIOUS! The whole family loved it, right down to my 18-month old! I made it exactly according to the recipe and made lime and radish garnishes for it. We will definitely be making this again! :-)

Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
This was delicious! I followed the recipe almost exactly, except that I didn't add any additional salt (figuring the other ingredients were salty enough). That turned out to be the best choice for our family. I will definitely make this again; it was a big hit!

Japanese Style Deep Fried Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Nothing about this recipe needs even a little bit of tweaking! I served with Japanese-Style Cabbage Salad from this site and Japanese white rice for a restaurant-quality Japanese meal that I will definitely be making again! Thanks for this fabulous recipe!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
The chicken came out so moist and the sauce was delicious! Even my husband, who is not a big fan of chicken, enjoyed it and asked to take the leftovers for lunch the next day.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
This is soooo yummy! It tastes just like restaurant crispy orange beef! We made the recipe exactly as printed, except we cooked the broccoli in the wok with some garlic and added some soy sauce to it in the end. The beef turned out crispy, sweet, and stickily delicious. It's a lot of work, but definitely worth the effort (and the clean-up). Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this recipe with us!!

Gramma Brown's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This is wonderfully full-flavored! My husband couldn't believe how much he loved it; I made the recipe exactly as-is, and the two of us finished it off in three days (10 servings!). A wonderful winter dinner. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Ropa Vieja in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This is a fine base recipe, but served as-is, definitely lacks a certain "zing." I always need to add extra vinegar, salt, and pepper before I serve it, and it still feels a bit bland to me. There's something missing, but I haven't quite put my finger on it yet....

Garlic Prime Rib

This is such delicious roast beef! It's delicious when you eat it straight out of the oven; it's delicious on a sandwich the next day; it's just plain delicious! So simple but so flavorful. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Three Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This is the BEST three-bean salad I have ever had! It totally reminded me of the ones my mom used to serve when I was a kid, but the mustard gives it an extra delicious kick. Will definitely make all summer long! Thank you so much!

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I made this recipe exactly as instructed, and felt disappointed -- creamy is good; runny is not so good. And this was runny. However, the flavor is delicious. I think next time, I will decrease the amount of milk by 1/2 cup to 1 cup and increase the sugar by 2-3 tbsp (as my husband said, the sweet factor was "on the edge"). It's definitely worth fiddling with the recipe to get it to your liking, because it is wonderfully creamy and delicious.

Mexican Bean and Rice Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
This doesn't seem like it would have a lot of flavor, but it's delicious! I add a little bit of olive oil and salt for fullness of flavor, and it is a favorite side dish for our family.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
My husband said, "Oh my god, these meatballs are awesome!" And he's right! I made them exactly as instructed, with the exception of leaving out the dash of hot sauce (since we only have Shriraka and I was afraid it would be way too hot). Next time I might increase the amount of parmesan cheese called for, but that's just a question of personal taste. An outstanding recipe that we will use again and again.

Tomato Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This was fantastic! Wonderful, full flavor. I accidentally bought tomato sauce instead of diced tomatoes, so mine was super runny; I added about a tbsp of ricotta on top of the parmesan, and it turned out so thick and creamy and delicious! Will definitely make again and again!

Taiwanese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
This is an outstanding recipe! My husband and I LOVE this meal, together with bok choy in spicy garlic sauce from this site. The flavors are outstanding and the pork is tender and delicious. The only variation I made was to brine the pork first; then I followed the rest of the instructions exactly. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! You can get Chinese 5-Spice Powder at an Asian grocery (we're lucky to have 3 close to our house); you can also find recipes for it on the web.

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This is fantastic! My grandma always used to make chicken and dumplings, and this brought me right back to my childhood. And it's a cheap meal! I made a couple of changes: since my husband hates peas, I added corn instead; and instead of baking mix, I used the dumpling recipe from "Polish Chicken and Dumplings" on this site. The dumplings came out better than I could have imagined. Will make again and again this winter!

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
This was delicious! I would tone down the heat a bit next time; I bought an Asian hot chili paste that was super hot, and we would have enjoyed the flavors better if I had used a bit less. It was a lot of prep time (longer than the 30 minutes listed here).

Jazzed Up Couscous

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
The original recipe was a bit bland for me, so I jazzed it up a little more by making the couscous with chicken broth and switching the cheese to Pepper Jack - now it's a meal my husband and I both love for a simple, quick main course.
