Homemade Frozen Custard

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Agreed! I was looking for a recipe that did not use heavy cream so this one caught my eye. I used whole milk and omitted the condensed milk. I used 1 cup sugar. Perfect! Lovely custard taste. Yum!

Very good recipe. Love the flavor that the sausage and spinach give to the soup. It's a keeper!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Yummy! The nutmeg flavor in these muffins is wonderful. I think they taste even better than donut holes...probably healthier too! They were super easy to make (my 18 month old even helped) and came out nice and moist.

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
This was fabulous! and even better, it was fabulously easy! I made this for a NewYears party where the host had gluten/soy/dairy allergies. This was a safe dish and it was a huge hit! Everyone raved about it and couldn't believe it was homemade. Thank you!

Happy Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
I'd give this 4.5 stars. I love dijon mustard and I love white wine, so this made a lovely flavoring for a roast chicken. It was a refreshing change from my standby olive oil and rosemary and it was packed with flavor. Thanks for sharing!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
I made this soup recently using our leftover Easter ham. It was super easy and wonderfully delicious, as the title states. I love the flavors of the celery and onion with the ham. I did use less pepper than called for but other than that this recipe is perfect as is. Thank you for sharing!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
YUM! I typically do not like Chicago-style pizza (or perhaps maybe just not the restaurant variety) however it's my husband favorite so I decided to give this recipe a try. I love it! And so did the hubby! Definitely a keeper. Thank you! (I accidentally bought hot Italian sausage and it actually added a nice flavor without being spicy)

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This dish is DIVINE. YUM!!! I made this for my hubby and I on Christmas morning. Prepared it on Christmas Eve when I was exhausted and it was so quick and easy! Took 5 minutes...then just popped it in the oven while opening presents in the morning. This will definitely be one of my dishes for many years to come.

Black Bean Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
LOVE IT! A local cafe makes a black bean soup that I love so I was looking for a similar recipe...this is even better!! I love cilantro and it really makes this dish. I have made it several times now; I usually add diced green and red peppers and omit the carrots. I serve with a dallop of sour cream on top like the restaurant...YUM!!! Thank you!

Spiced Mixed Nuts

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
This was superb! and super easy! I brought a jar of this to a hoilday party and the host was so sad that there were no leftovers because it was gobbled up so fast. To her delight, I had brought an extra jar as a gift. Everyone was asking for the recipe. I love cayenne, so I followed another review and substituted cayenne for the cloves. It gave the perfect hint of spice just to warm you up a little. Yum! Thanks for sharing!

Mongolian Beef and Spring Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
AWESOME This recipe is definitely a keeper. It is sweet, but that's what I love about it. The brown sugar gives it such a unique flavor. Can't wait to make it again! Maybe I'll even try it with chicken or throw in some red pepper flakes for a little kick.

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Fantastic recipe! Absolutely delicious and my husband even liked it too. I sauteed diced celery along with the onions for a touch of different flavor and also color. A refreshing change from the standard corn chowder. I also like that it is super thick and creamy without having to use cream.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
Love it! It never occurred to me to cook cauliflower like this. It's great to find a yummy healthy recipe for a new vegetable. I sadly omitted the parmesan because we have family with gluten/soy/dairy allergies but it was still delicious! I think I may add this to the Thanksgiving menu this year! Delicious, thank you!

Microwave Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
YUM! I was looking for a quick and easy chocolate cake recipe to fix my chocolate craving and this is it!! Whoever had a problem with texture perhaps you over cooked it. Microwaves can be tricky but just like any baking you have to check check check. 8 minutes was perfect in my microwave and the cake came out so light and delicate and fluffy. This entire recipe was SO quick and easy to prepare using basic ingredients. The cake alone was not as chocolatey as I typically would like and the sauce alone seemed a bit on the sweet side, but together...OH MY!!! Decadently delicious. The combination was the perfect balance and I couldn't stop eating it! Thank you! My husband is also a chocoholic and a critic...he gobbled this one down!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 30, 2012
This was AWESOME!!! The best chicken marinade I have ever tried. So easy and delicious. The chicken came out SO juicy and savory. It will be a keeper forever and would even be great for guests. I used dried rosemary because I didn't have fresh and I omitted the sugar. I might omit the salt next time, it's flavorful enough with the other ingredients. SOOO yummy. Thank you for the great recipe!

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
This may just be my go-to frosting for cake decorating from now on. It was so easy to make and was delicious. I'm not a big fan of super sugary frostings but this one wasn't too bad. Besides, I use it for kids' cakes and they love the sugar. I followed the recipe exactly and it came out wonderfully white and fluffy. Perfect consistency for decorating. I hate shortening and the greasy feel, but based on the good reviews I gave this recipe a shot. It came out great! No greasiness at all! The secret is to really beat the shortening well first, and then beat again after adding the cream. And folks who commented how this doesn't have butter in it...well, it has heavy cream, and you beat that long enough...you get butter! Thanks for sharing!
