Me as a Baby Queen
About this Cook
Hey, Hey My name is Nekki. I'm a beginning cook that likes eating mostly but has found that cooking is pretty fun in the last few years. If its good, then I don't mine trying to cook it, but I really like trying stuff made from scratch. Other than cooking, I'm a full-time college senior with a part-time job whose suppose to graduate May 2011. I worship God, like to read, and have 3 siblings. What about you?
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook sweets, cajun/creole, and anything Southern from scratch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any. I just started. My Mom is the big cook in our house.
My cooking triumphs
Probably the roux to a gumbo I made and the five-flavor pound cake I made from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
One of my biggest tragedies was a 3-layer chocolate cake that look like something but taste like nothing. Another thing that can be considered a tragedy, I guess, is overplanning. I always plan to many dishes and have ingredients left over that I never end up using.

Caramel Frosting IV
Good recipe!! Taste really good. I didn't add as nearly as much powdered sugar as the recipe call for but it tastes like caramel even before you get to the powdered sugar part and taste fine as it is, though I probably wouldn't add as much salt as the recipe called for, but great recipe!!!!

Five Flavor Pound Cake I
Love the flavors and the smell of the cake. Mine didn't turn out perfect but that, I think, was due to old baking powder. But even with all the Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker cakes, this is one of my fav.

Apple Butter Spice Cake
It was really good. I stuck to the recipe but it wasn't enough to fit in 13x9 pan. Put it in abt a 9x9 instead and it barely spreaded out completely in that pan. But it taste good.
