Very Best Blueberry Cobbler!

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
This was a terrific recipe. Used a little less milk in the dough and also added a little cinnamon to the dough as well. We served it with whipped cream to complete the presentation.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I have been making this recipe for years with excellent results. I make the meatballs with 1/2 ground turkey and 1/2 lean ground beef mixed with egg, little oatmeal for binding, garlic, onion, parsley or whatever I have on hand and then gently "brown" the meatballs on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. I then drain off excess fat and cool them enough to handle before adding them (couple at a time) to the crockpot with the already warm sauce and heat on low for a couple hours, giving them a gentle "toss" once or twice. Thank you for reminding me of this wonderful and easy recipe.

This is an excellent cake. I have been making it for years from the back of Hershey's Cocoa with rave reviews! It always makes a hit and is the first dessert gone at any gathering!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I decided to make this frosting because I had whipping cream that needed to be used...I'm glad I did! Made exactly as written except little less whipping cream... an awesome frosting for a "last minute decision" 4 layer red velvet cake which was courtesy of Sunny ... Thanks Tom for a great frosting and Sunny for a terrific cake recipe!

Awesome Baked Sea Scallops

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I made this dish tonight just for me! My male friend wanted marinated pork tenderloin on the grill and I don't eat meat and he doesn't eat scallops...so...since there were scallops in the freezer that needed to be eaten I sacrificed myself (wink)... I have been eyeing your recipe in my recipe box for awhile)! Very easy and delicious. Followed it exactly except I cut the recipe in half and used crushed onion and garlic croutons since we didn't have any breadcrumbs-I used less than what was suggested due to my own preference. Thanks StylinCook! I've been wowed!

Intensely Chocolate Mousse Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I made this mousse cake yesterday and it turned out fantastic. Baking in a bath is a good idea and keeps it moist...we used an 8" springform pan. Did not use chocolate curls but next time I will fancy it up a little. Thanks for a great recipe!

This dessert has a nice flavor and is light and fluffy, however, we were not impressed enough to make it again. Thank you, Beth, for submitting the recipe.

Mimi's Zucchini Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
This is an excellent recipe! The only changes I made were to substitute with brocoli as that is what I had on hand, stewed tomatoes for fresh as I was making stewed tomatoes from a recipe on this site, cut the oil to about 1/8 cup of EVOO and baked them in a lined/sprayed muffin tin for about 15 minutes for a grab and go morning meal. Next time if I have a group to cook for I will make it into a pie. Thanks Mimi!

I have been making garlic bread this way for many years. I got the recipe from a chef. It always gets terrific reviews! Thanks for the recipe and the reminder of how terrific it is ...but you do have to watch it closely at it burns quickly.

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
An old time classic that I made this year with the input of Muscleman. I made exactly as recipe indicated except I thought I had ground cloves (they were whole) so so I added a little Nutmeg in its place. Less spices do enhance the flavor or the pie. Delicious and a nice ending to a turkey dinner. Thanks all!

Apple Pecan Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This is a very delightful dressing but for my taste it needs a little more spice/salt. Next time I will add a little more salt to enhance the flavors and possibly more fresh parsley from my garden. I will make this dressing again. Thanks for the recipe.

Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
My favorite things to eat! Omitted the mayo, lettuce and cheese. Replaced the bread with a toasted bagel and regular bacon with crisp turkey bacon - layered open faced leftover turkey breast, organic avocado, turkey bacon, vine ripe tomatoe and lots of cracked black pepper. Significant other thinks it looked strange to say the least as he munched away on his traditional hot turkey leftovers...but what does he know about good eats! It was exceptional! ...think I will do it again!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This soup is a definite 5+. I made a few changes to suit personal preference...we are not big tomatoe fans so I skiped the tomatoe soup, instead of canned tomatoes I seeded two large organic tomatoes and cut in small bits, skipped salsa, used fresh parsley from my garden, skipped boullion and instead used 3 cups organic chicken broth and 3 cups water, 3 cups of organic black turtle beans that I boiled for 1 1/2 hours and drained in place of canned beans, 1 cup frozen corn, light sour cream, skipped cilantro because didn't have any, added additional spices and hot sauce. Cooked on high for about 4 hours in crock pot. Before serving I squeezed fresh lime over each bowl; offered choice of recommended topings. As per advice of another reviewer I made my own tortilla chips and squeezed a bit of lime over them as well. Even my ever so picky significant other took a bite and said "this is good"...he even had a small second bowl. Good job, guys, keep em' coming! Happy Holidays!

Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I have been making acorn squash for years like this just for me since my significant other sticks his nose up to any vegetable. I have, however, not split the baking but willl do that today when I bake one for dinner. Acorn squash is also excellent plain which I sometimes do as I like cooking in the nude. Thank you for a reminder of a delicious and nutritious recipe.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This is an excellent vegetarian dish. I made it exactly as directed (next time I will double the broth) except I used fresh canellini beans that I had cooked previously and froze in 16 oz packages and boxed chicken broth instead of canned.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
Wonderful little critters, they are! Went to Pops in the Park Concert and was trying to find something that would be delicous and travel well. Made exactly as indicated...made a big hit ... to the point I was asked to post the recipe on the meetup's website. Thanks Bakingnuts for a super peanut butter cookie! (Next time I plan to try them with 1/2 cup less sugar and use brown sugar instead of white).
