Bucket of Mud

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I have made dirt for years and placed the mixture in a terra cotta pot and placed a bouquet of silk flowers in it with gummy worms and bugs crawling around the flowers. We used a new garden shovel for the spoon. I also used chocolate pudding to make it mud colored! Great recipe!

Indian Tacos with Yeast Fry Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
I am also from SD, Rapid City. I only used the part for the Fry Bread and it was great! I used the recipe for Buffy's Refried Beans and my own ground beef with seasonings, cumin, chili pwdr, garlic, and cornstarch. Also made homemade quacamole! Pile everything on with shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, onion, tomato and ripe olives!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Made with Skippy Natural Peanut Butter, that is what I had. These came out great! Wish I had this recipe around Christmas. I would have made candy with these. Better than a Reese Peanut Butter Cup!!!! Will be a staple in our house too!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Good recipe as is but switched it up a bit. After browning ground beef, onion and garlic, I added au jus beef base 2 T., green beans and creamed corn, no tomatoes or basil. Topped with cheese and then potatoes which I crisscrossed with a fork. Sprinkled with paprika and cayenne. Yum!!

Pear and Blue Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Just made this salad and dressing with a few changes. Baked pears for 15 min. at 400 and used provolone (didn't have blue cheese). Made the Candy Coated Pecans from Allrecipes. Made dressing exact except for used olive oil (didn't have walnut oil). Pour dressing in a cruet and it filled it! This is a great salad, can add extra ingredients like croutons, cranberries, etc. I don't really like maple syrup but is a perfect dressing. I had thought about changing it and then decided to make it as exact as I could to give a proper rating. I may try to find walnut oil and roquefort cheese. Just try it as is! Thank you SPERL25!

Breakfast Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
I make these all the time. A quick method for an individual serving of eggs is to spray a ramekin with Pam, break the egg into ramekin and add 2 tsp. of milk, mix well and mic for 50 seconds to 1 min. depending on wattage of microwave. Assemble as called for in Step 5. Very quick breakfast if meat and biscuits are made in advance. These are so good and versatile!

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Delicious! Followed exactly except doubled sauce also and added cayenne pepper. My DH loved it too! I didn't have any chicken in the house except Nuggets which I fried and added to sauce. Next time I will try the breast or thigh meat to make it healthier! I didn't have the chinese five spice but used the recipe for it on Allrecipes. I didn't have any anise seed though. This will definately be a keeper. I am sending it to my daughter who buys the packaged Orange Chicken in the store!

Very easy! I started from scratch using raw pinto beans that I cooked in a slowcooker until done and easily smashed. I then fryed in pan with a little butter and garlic.!

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
My mother-in-law has made these for years! She used heavy whipping cream instead of ice cream but I like the ice cream best, plus I don't always have heavy whipping cream on hand! They were not as caramely as hers so will double the recipe for the topping from now on! These are always a hit and don't normally last more than a day!Only gave 4 star rating because of not having enough caramel!
