Easy Apple Crisp
Easy is right! I make this multiple times a year and is usually my go-to recipe when I need to bring a dessert somewhere. I've used the white cake mix, yellow, strawberry, and even funfetti (though someone asked if it was moldy when I had just made it that day... they ate it anyway and loved it.) Make sure you use butter. I tried making this once for a lactose-intolerant friend of mine and it just wasn't the same. The dry mixture didn't get crumbly the same way when mixing, more formed a paste. We try to use a combination of cortland and braeburn apples for this recipe if we can find them at our local country store, and I reduce the water to 3/4 of a cup.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce
I have made this recipe many, many times. My husband loves raspberries, and it's quick enough to make on a weeknight without too much trouble. I have discovered two things when making this recipe: 1. Leave out either the butter or the oil, you don't need both, and 2. Any kind of fruit juice will work in place of the orange juice, and doesn't change the taste at all. I've used fruit punch, lemonade, and various others and they've all been just fine. You'll enjoy this whether you love raspberries or if you can just stand them every once in a while.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops
This recipe still worked great for me, despite my limited cooking skill! I learned a few things from this: george foreman grills do not substitute for a real backyard grill (it's all messy with burnt sauce), and there's a reason you put corn starch in water (oops!). I didn't have apple juice, but i had a ton of apples! I just cut an apple up and let that boil in the sauce instead (adjusted for two people). Despite my mishaps, it turned out well! Can't wait to try this the way it's meant to be next time!
