About this Cook
I am almost 28 years old and never cooked a day in my life until I realized I could make food look pretty. My husband and I have been married for over 5 years now and I didn't cook at all the first year. I was watching a cooking show and it looked so aesthetically appealing, I wanted to make it! After that, I continued to search for not only good tasting but good looking recipes!
My favorite things to cook
Each week I choose a different ingredient that I have never cooked / baked with and use it to learn how to prepare it and sometimes to learn what it tastes like. I like to cook chicken and pastas the most.
My cooking triumphs
I catered a small party for work a few years back and everything was a hit! That's when I really started to cook a lot!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make candy one time without using a candy thermometer...big mistake. You must have a candy thermometer!

Grandma Snyder's Oatmeal Cake
Very sweet. Too sweet. But I think with less sugar mixture on top it would be perfect. Also would like to try a cream cheese frosting instead because the cake itself is good too.

Slow Cooker Lentils and Sausage
This was good but I expected it to be thicker. It was like a stew for sure. To make it healthier, I used turkey kielbasa and it was very good.
