Pork Chops and Mustard Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Mmmm Good! I've made this several times wsith a Texmati brand royal rice blend instead of potatoes and it is always delicious. The rice adds a nice crunch. Perfect meal (with a slight twist) for a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy. The mustard add a great little punch of flavor. One of my dad's favorites.

Tequila Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Delicious. As one reviewer suggested, I marinated first and then cooked in the marinade. Not the best approach. Ended up with way too much liquid. Although tasty, I could tell flavors were diluted. But it was good enough for me to make again and I'm looking forward to it.

Baked Beans, Texas Ranger

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
Only one person in my family liked these beans. The sauce did not cook down enough, so the bean were still soupy and the flavor was just "not all that." Not sure why the recipe earned so many stars, but I won't be trying it again.

Quick and easy to fix. I've never had avocado with pasta before, but it was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be making this again.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I tried this and didn't love it but didn't hate it either. I think I was expecting a richer flavor from the raspberry sauce because of the picture. Although I have to say that I thought it was better the second day.

Lemon-Garlic Rainbow Chard

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
First time I've ever made chard. It was great and I'll make it again. It was a light side dish full of flavor and even kept well for leftovers. Easy to make. I think any kind of chard would work, but I found the rainbow at my local Central Market. I love a good low carb side dish.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
Really enjoyed this. I patted chicken dry, then chopped artichokes and patted them dry too. I had read other reviews of a similar recipe that mentioned lots of liquid/juices so I was lucky to have almost none. Adding this to my favorites.

Shoepeg Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I've made this recipe for years. Originally got it from a Mississippi cookbook developed by Southern Bell employees. The cookbook was called Bell's Best. This is a must for all of our Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. I double the amount of green beans, then double the entire recipe because everyone loves it so much! I also add slivered almonds on top, which makes it very pretty and adds a little crunch.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
Gift from the Gods? I don't think so. I followed the instructions exactly and just felt the dish was a bit bland. It needed more seasoning to make it taste like more than just a big mix of dairy sauce.

B.L.T. Salad with Basil Mayo Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I've served this for guests on multiple occasions. They are always impressed with the flavor and amazed when I tell them I made the dressing myself.

Pecan Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I loved, loved, loved the extra flavor in this recipe. I used brown rice and cooked as directed, although as others suggested I cooked in chicken broth. I prepared the rice and chopped up all my ingredients in advance. At dinner time all I had to do was mix everything together. Super easy and by far one of the tastiest side dishes I've tried from this site.

Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
First time I tried this I had all the ingredients mixed and ready to go with the intention of adding the cornbread mix right before it was time to put it in the oven. Well, guess I had a little too much wine, so I ended up dumping the mixture into the baking pan without the cornbread mix and cooking it that way. It still turned out delicious! Can't wait for a chance to try it again.

Broiled Grouper with Creamy Crab and Shrimp Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I've only tried this once, but it was just okay. I followed the recipe as directed and just didn't think it had all that much flavor.

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
Very good, but because of the size of my red potatoes I had to use 10, and it still seemed like I had a little too much dressing. I'll definitely try again with more pepperoncini and black pepper to suit my family.
