Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
It is a great pasta salad especially if you love fresh veggies... but two bottles of dressing is definitely too much... I only added half a bottle and that was plenty... just put the bottle on the table and people who like more dressing can add more... also next to the bottle set a pepper shaker... pepper adds something fantastic to this pasta... ENJOY

Easy Bunny Cake

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
It is a simple, fun, and easy way to add some cheer to Easter... the only thing I recommend is don't go overboard with the jelly beans when you are decorating... I covered almost the whole bowtie with them... granted it looked really nice it was also incredibly sweet.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
GREAT MARINADE RECIPE... it is one of the better marinades I have tried.... I used rib steaks instead of rib-eyes because we have our own beef butchered... the difference is they have a little more fat on the edge and the bone still in... I marinated them for 24 hours and also used fresh onion instead of onion powder.... which grilled up nicely on tin foil and tasted great over the steaks which were incredibly juicy and flavorful... and it wasn't too much garlic like I first thought... TASTES GREAT

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Great basic recipe. They taste good plain but even better when you make them to your taste. With this recipe it gives you the option to make it the way you like it. I had fresh raspberries so I made a cream cheese filling and spread it on one side of the crepe then sprinkled with raspberries and rolled the crepe up. I then garnished with powdered sugar. They looked and tasted GREAT!!

Home-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
These were an easy recipe to make for my family seems how they love fried potatoes. They thought these were really good. I have made them like this before. You can really do a lot of different things with fried potatoes, and it's always fun to try something new. Thanks for the recipe.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
TASTED AMAZING... they really are great. I had some zucchini to use up in the garden and what a great way to eat zucchini. I made it exactly the way the recipe said, then I served mine with "Best Marinara Sauce Yet" off this web site and topped with Parmesan Cheese. My family just ate them up. They are very tasty.. I don't know how many more ways I can say it.

Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
This recipe worked great I love using the bread machine to make dough, it is so eay. I ate the buns with hamburgers so I wish I would have made them a little bit bigger, but they still tasted very good. I didn't have bread flour so I used 3 1/4 cups all purpose flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and they still turned out great. I didn't have a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter either, so I cut both sides out of a 2 1/2 inch tin can. That seemed to do the trick. Great versatile bun.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I really like this marinara sauce, usually I don't like too much marinara sauce with things like bread sticks but I made this one (cut in half) to go over my "Zucchini Patties" found on this recipe and it worked great and I loved the flavor. The wine brings something special to it. I will definately use it anytime I am looking for a Marinara Sauce.

Jalapeno Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Great bread, with a nice little kick from the peppers. I was looking for a recipe to try in our bread machine because it was just sitting around and I wanted to know if it still worked. This recipe was easy and tasted great, the only thing I will do next time is add some more cheese, 1/2 cup just didn't seem to cut it. Will definately make again.

French Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I always thought French Bread was really hard to make. This recipe just proved me wrong. True it is kind of cheating... but when it tastes great and is that easy who really cares and no one could tell the difference anyway. I didn't have bread flour so I used 3 cups all purpose flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat and sprinkled in some wheat germ, it worked great. I will definately make this again if I need French Bread.

Raspberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
The first time I made these I followed everything to the point. They tasted good but didn't seem to rise at all when they were baked. Then I made them again thining the batter down with some extra milk and added some more baking powder that seemed to do the trick because they rose nicely. I also tried them with blueberries but thought they would be better without the cinnamon (I noticed the Blueberry Streusel Muffins, from the Taste of Home after I tried this.) Either way my family gobbled them up. I will definately make them again with the extra milk and baking soda.

I had never had a Soda Farl before so I tried these. They tasted good but reminded me of a really heavy pancake. It was fun to try them though.

Raspberry Almond Coffeecake

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
This was a great Coffeecake. I wish I would have tried it warm though. It still tasted great at room temperature. I didn't have an 8 inch round cake pan so I used a 9 inch and upped everything in the recipe by 20 percent because the area of a 9 in. is 20% bigger than an 8 in. To do that I used the servings feature and upped it from 10 servings to 12 and it worked wonderfully. The only thing I will do differently next time is not add as much brown sugar to the raspberries. I picked mine fresh from the garden so they were already incredibly sweet, all the sugar did was make them in to a juicey mess. But it still tasted really good.

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
EXCELLANT!! This is a good basic recipe that you can do a lot with. It does take a little work and time. You have to start this recipe about 2 hours and 15 minutes before you intend to eat so the dough can rise. But once it hits the grill you better be ready to work fast. I precooked all of my ingredients so I would avoid burning the crust (update: be sure not to burn the crust, just cook till it is brown and cheese is melted) waiting for them all to heat up on the grill. I also just put my tomatoes in a frying pan with a little water and cooked them down a little instead of using the tomatoe sauce. I also added chicken. GREAT RECIPE I can't wait to try some more different things on it!!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
Very Tender and Tastey.... I boiled these on the side burner of the grill before I put them in the marinade instead of putting them in the oven because it was a really hot summer day and didn't want to heat up the house.... they ended up very tender... good for slimming bad for taste.... i lost quite a bit of fat.... but the Ribs tasted great after marrinating and being basted with the BBQ sauce.. UPDATE: I made it again baking them this time.... but notable difference... I do think boiling them did make them more tender but baking them might have had more flavor.... I couldn't find chile sauce with an e so I threw in a can of mild chiles, a little oil, and extra ketchup... worked out good.... good flavor UPDATE: I have made these several times now and boiling them for an hour to an hour and a half make these ribs so tender.. and I don't think you lose much flavor at all.. this recipe continues to impress

Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Very, very sweet.... they tasted great though... I made this on an extremely hot and humid day so it was hard to keep the crust together because it was mushy. I used 6 small apples and halved the recipe putting it in a 8 in. square pan.... But over all they tasted great... will definately make again..
