French Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
A great crepe recipe with an almost perfect consistency for making awesome thin crepes the way the French make them... as compared to the Basic Crepe recipe on this site this one was far thinner and I would definitely use it if you are looking for thin crepes... you can fill them with just about anything you want from pie filling to different fruits or even nutella (as a french foreign exchange students taught me)... any way you fill them they are excellent!!

Cookies 'n Cream Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
so incredibly rich and delicious.... if you love cookies and cream and oreos you will love this recipe... I made this the night ahead and put in in the refrigerator and then when I went to cut it it kind of crumbled and fell apart... next time I will be sure to eat it fresh.. but everyone still loved it... when I stacked the two cakes I frosted them and put a layer of crumbs between them.... no bad remarks on this one

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
This recipe was incredibly flavorful and delicious... I ended up using Italian bread crumbs because that is all I had on hand.... and it tasted great... these also stayed very moist baking them for 30 minutes... these definitely aren't the healthiest way to prepare chicken breasts though... dipping in them in oil and then rolling in cheese... but they are definitely good....

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
These really do melt in your mouth... super rich and delicious... I did learn some valuable lessons from making these though... first do not use nestle chocolate chips for anything that involves melting they just clump up on you... I had to add milk to get it to a smooth consistency... this may have thinned it down and part of the reason the "batter" didn't firm up the greatest in the fridge.... also if you plan to dip them in melted chocolate be sure to shape into balls and freeze for an hour or so before dipping... great recipe would have been so much easier if I didn't have the problems with the chocolate chips... thanks for submitting

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
Sadly this recipe lost out in a side by side comparison test with Banana Crumb Muffins (but that was by a bunch of college students what do they know)..... I thought this recipe gave the muffins a great oaty flavor and chewy texture which I rather enjoyed... the only thing I may change if I make again is adding walnut and possibly substituting applesauce for oil... great recipes though a little different texture from the fluffy muffin but great oat flavor.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
Everyone loved these and they won out in a side by side comparison test with Banana Oat muffins (but of coarse that was by a bunch of college students) They loved the light fluffy texture and how sweet these were and especially they loved the crumb topping.... personally I thought they where a little too sweet... but to each their own they were very good muffins the only things I might do different are add walnuts (because I like banana nut muffins) and maybe a little cinnamon and vanilla to the batter.....

Tangy Mustard

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made this recipe as stated excepted I processed in a hot water bath like the original submitter of beer mustard stated... the mustard had really good flavor when I canned it, the thyme definitely was a powerful flavor... we'll see what a week or two in the fridge does... this recipe was very similar to the Beer Mustard with beer swapped in for some vinegar and no thyme... both these recipes are great recipes to experiment with...

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2012
Back home people used to make these no back cookies for just about everything, here at college it was like no one had ever heard of them.... I was trying to find a recipe that made them turn out the way I remember them because it seems that everyone always had a slightly different take on how to make them.... I followed the ingredients in this recipe except used butter for margarine.... I took the advice of the other reviewers and boiled the mixture for two minutes instead of one... then I stirred in the peanut butter and vanilla until well mixed and finally the oatmeal.... mine seemed to turn out good, they held together great but a little on the drier side... this is such a quick and easy recipe though... that even if they don't turn out perfect everytime they are still AWESOME!!

Gourmet Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
So so simple... I don't know why anyone would ever spend money on microwave popcorn ever... This method is so easy and you don't have all the oils so it is super super healthy... even like it plain without drizzling it with the oil... super cheap and super healthy snacks....

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
When carving pumpkins for Halloween why wastes such delicious seeds. I always ask people for their seeds when they are carving pumpkins... it is so easy to roast them and they taste absolutely delicious... This recipe is very good the only things I did different were cut the butter back to 1 tablespoon (it could have even been cut back a little more I think) and also used Lawry's Seasoning Salt in place of regular salt... The Worcestershire sauce is good but can be a little powerful next time I will make two batches one with and one without the sauce. Very good way to roast seeds thanks for sharing..

Wild Rice Stuffed Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
Great combination.... I love wild rice and this recipe really makes a nice dish with excellent presentation... I didn't have the wild rice blend mix so I used 1 cup brown rice and 1/2 cup wild rice, added two tablespoons parsley, a teaspoon, a half of lawries seasoning salt, and a shake or two of black pepper and italian herbs.. then cooked it for 40 minutes in 3 1/2 cups chicken broth. It turned out great.... thanks for the recipe

Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
These dumplings turned my poor college student chicken soup (made using chicken broth made from chicken bouillon as the base and cut up carrots, celery, and cubes of turkey bought from the college salad bar) into something extra special.... These dumplings ad great flavor and texture and really brought my soup to the next level... I will definitely use this recipe again thanks!!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
A good classic New York Cheesecake... non of that quick no bake want-to-bes.. this was a great recipe which turned out wonderful... I followed the recipe to the T (except added a few extra graham cracker crumbs and another tablespoon of butter to the crust) and had great results not a crack in sight... there is nothing healthy about this recipe 2 pounds of cream cheese and then a cup of sour cream... very very good though....

Barbequed Pineapple

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
Personally I wasn't a huge fan of these... they were good but I think I would have just been fine with grilling the pineapple plain (which I love) and drinking the rum.... but my dad and other seemed to really like them and like the tartness of the pineapple that the marinade seemed to bring out... overall I guess its not a bad recipe if you want to transform the pineapple a little bit.... I did substitute spiced rum for regular because that is all I had so that could have made the difference too...

Carrot Souffle

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
I was kind of disappointed that mine didn't puff up like I thought souffles are supposed to.... but that could be because I cut the amount of sugar in half... I am glad I did though because I served it as a side dish and it was still very very sweet.. sweet enough to make it a dessert I think.... but everyone loved it and thought it reminded them of custard.... a little cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled over the top was good also so possible mixing in a little next time might be an option... not what I was expecting but a good recipe

Marinated Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
A great recipe... very excellent flavor with the combination of herbs but the roasted peppers are truly the highlight of this dish!! I did also use dry herbs and increase the amount I added... I also let mine set for a few hours for the flavors to really develop... glad I gave it a try thanks for submitting

Zucchini Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
If you are looking for a recipe that uses zucchini to make the recipe healthier this one is definitely not for you... I think the philosophy of this recipe is if you add enough sugar and butter anything will taste good... my coworkers couldn't believe it was made with zucchini and not apples... very good recipe I took the other reviewers advice and removed the seeds from the zucchini.... it taste good both warm and cold... definitely not the best if you are on a diet but a great recipe if you have a garden full of zucchini and are craving apple crisp
