Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
This was really good. Great way to use up leftover chkn. I added sauteed red peppers for color and sweetness. Next time, I'll add snow pea pods carrots and celery. Very versatile...but my young kids said "no, thanks!" Ahhh kids. Well at least they used their manners...

Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
First of all this has great potential however I am giving it 3 stars b/c it is lengthy, messy and I almost burned myself trying to puree the whole soup (chef error...I read the directions wrong). The steam made the lid pop off and the soup went everywhere...almost burning me in the process. Made this today on a smaller scale and used store bought roasted red peppers to save a little time. Will probably not make again not really worth the hassle. Thanks for sharing though!

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This tasted fine but was lacking the wow factor I remember as a child (although in all honesty my perspective on food has changed since then). My husband and 4 kids were not impressed either. Paula Deans recipe is much better.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Very good! Be sure to double the sauce and don't cover. Sauce thinned out too much. Bake 375-20 min each side. Use low sodium soy sauce. Line pan with foil!

Resurrection Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
Just made these and OMG! they are soooo good. What a fun easter project and food!!! A big thanks to KarenCooks for the symbolism of each ingredient. They do make a mess but I will try in muffin tins next time as another viewer suggested. Kids loved making and eating. Double batch next time. I used the lg. crescent rolls but they still leaked. Will try with different buiscuits. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
Put pesto on both sides of bread then topped with 2 slices of provolone and chopped roasted red peppers (tried to recall recipe from memory alone. LOL!) It was really yummy but only giving it 4 stars bc it wasn't the recipe but close. Didn't really like the provolone. I will try mozz. or Amer next. Def. has potential for a 5 star. Play a little! Update: Made 4-19 much better with Amer. Cheese and provolone, but OMG! I think its 2000 calories at least. Its good but not worth the calories! Have sparingly!

Sunday Morning Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
FABULOUS! Even better if frozen then heated in the microwave. The flavors marry in the freezer and they are super moist. Added zest and juice of 2 lemons. Didn't use vinegar. The lemon juice will curdle the milk by itself. Added almond extract. Will experiment with add ins (cream cheese, lemon yogurt or sour cream) to make a thicker pancake.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
OMG! This was soooo good! I have made this dish many times before but it has never been close to this. I used a premade crust and boiled the chkn and veggies in chicken broth and then reserved that same broth and made the base for the pie. Will use again and again! Thanks for sharing Robbie!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Made for Super Bowl and these were AWESOME! The grape flavor was a little strong but in all fairness I didn't measure it I just dumped 2/3 of the container in. To compensate I added vinegar to cut the sweetness and some ketchup. Also added a small can of pineapple chunks. Had with some rice but would prefer with egg noodles. Will try next time with green and red peppers. Thanks for sharing...definitely a KEEPER!

Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
These were pretty good. I didn't use pepperoni b/c the kids don't like. I also used refrigerated pizza dough in the tube. Freezing works great but cook a little longer to compensate

BEST EVER! I added 1tbs. italian seasonings dressing to the butter as it was melting. I also breaded chicken and cooked in oil with more seasonings. Very rich but omg out of this world. Need to tri with 1/2 and 1/2 to reduce fat and calories.

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
This was okay. Definitely needed 2 tubes of dough. Kids aren't huge fans of broccoli so it wasn't exactly well received. However, hubby really liked. Will probably not make again due to the majority of my families' taste.

Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Loved these! Kids never suspected a thing. Hahaha I love it! I even added neon blue to try to tint it blue but it just made it a cool shade of grass green. So I quickly pulled out a bottle of yellow before the kids got home. It wasn't as smooth as a smoothie but the taste was great. The kids wanted them again for spring, St. Patricks Day, and as Green Goblin Goo for Halloween! Spinach!...who would have thought!

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Edible, but bland. Kids didn't like. I used the Hawaiian bread loaf and diced into 2" square pieces. I didn't let it sit for 10 minutes because the bread saturates so quickly. I also put in a bundt pan but let it cook for 50 minutes. It was like eating warm slightly soggy bread-not quite what I was looking for. I think with such a variance on opinions for this recipe it could be the kind of bread being used which could make a huge difference. Those who liked it would serve others well by noting the specific type and thickness of bread used.
