Stuffed Chicken Valentino

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Love this recipe! Looks complicated on the plate, but it's really quite simple. I have incorporated a lot of the ideas from other reviewers and they are all great - this recipe leaves lots of room for creative changes.

I used frozen meatballs and Jimmy's suggestions in his review and this is now a family favorite!

Pork Loin and Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
Great recipe. The meat is tender and moist, and the cabbage crispy and delicious. I will leave out the worchestershire sauce next time, though, and instead flavor with caraway seeds, sliced onion and apple. Can't wait.

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
I really watch my salt, so I was careful (reduced the seasoned salt; cooked a fresh, unbrined turkey; and used reduced salt mushroom soup. This gravy is the best I have ever made in my 60+ years!

Ultimate High Altitude Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
I live at approximately 5000 feet, just high enough to play havoc with cookies. This really is a great recipe - the cookies held their shape and were light and delicately crunchy. I nearly doubled the chips, baked them at 360 degrees for 10 minutes - and they came out great.

Aunt Hazel's Apple Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
A new favorite! The cookie is not very sweet, so a glaze really is beneficial. I followed recommendations from earlier reviews (press the cookies down as they do not flatten on their own, add raisins and a little allspice) then used a caramel glaze, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

Apple Crumb Pie

Acceptable pie, but too sweet. I recommend decreasing the sugar.

Topsy-Turvy Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Pretty much fail safe recipe and it avoids the problem of a high crust with lots of air between it and the apples. Nice change of pace from the standard apple pie. I chopped the pecans to make it easier to slice and that worked out well - otherwise no changes needed.

Our favorite summertime tomato and zucchini recipe. Easy to prepare, and tastes great reheated even 2 days later.

Porkolt (Hungarian Stew) Made With Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
A big hit with my husband who is a kind, but discriminating critic of new recipes. He enthusiastically gives it 5 stars as well. I used regular old American paprika, but recently found Hungarian and can't wait to try this again!

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I made only one change to the recipe: I browned the pork in oil first. This is one of the tastiest and moistest pork roasts I have made in a very long time. The cranberries are great on top of the roast if you drain them in a slotted spoon. While the color isn't as great as in the picture, the cranberries add zing.

Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
Very, very good coffee cake. I follow the recommendations from GinnyLovesWhenIBake (6/11/09) and recommend you do so as well. This cake stays moist for a day or so if well wrapped, and freezes well.
