Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
My husband is southern Italian, he has not stopped raving about this pasta. What is so wonderful about it to me, is that you can serve " as is" for a side dish, or add Chicken as a main dish. Toward the last, I added marinated artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers (from a jar) , a small can of sliced black olives and torn chicken pieces from a store bought rotisserie chicken. Wonderful dinner in no time; simple and wonderful with just bread to go with it. Do watch the video though. It helps about the roasting of the garlic. Enjoy!

Fondant Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
Am I the only 3 star rating? I thought they were very good, but not so wonderful to be worth the trouble. Im wondering if you could get the same flavor with cutting thick scollops and using a 13x9 dish in the oven?

Ultimate Chocolate Dessert

How can anything this darn easy be so delicious??? So much you can do! Try leaving out the coffee, and dropping a spoonful of rasberry grenache on top. I once served this in shot glasses; thats how melt in your mouth rich it is!

Amazing Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
I used only olive oil since I didnt have sesame oil and coarse cracked pepper it was great. The second time, I used lite soy, and cooked chopped bacon tossed in with some dried cranberries. (trying to mimick a restaurant appetizer that I loved). Also turned out wonderful.

Pepper Bread

I'm telling you, I had my doubts about this one, but this is so wonderful served with soup or stew! It is a denser hearty bread that cant go unnoticed at the table. Will definitely make again.

Really good texture, so easy and versatile. I added 1/4 cup dried minced onion and 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder to mine.

Pecan Pie Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
This, I would have to give five stars and my husband moved this up to his top 10 list. I have to say, With 9 eggs total,3 c. pecans and all the cream and corn syrup, this is very rich and not too cheap either. BUT my company loved it even though neither of them like pecan pie. Might save this for holidays or special occasions. Note: I saved enough filling to spread some on top of cake with a few whole pecans for decoration.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
We really enjoyed this one and have also used it on Chicken. I even used red wine instead of white and it was good, although the white is looks better. Mushrooms would be a great addition. Altogether very easy for a weeknite dinner over noodles.

Cranberry Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
I have made this for years using whole cranberry sauce and only 1 pit. Onion soup mix. If some think it too sweet, try 1/2 cup French dressing ( or Catalina) mixed with 1/2 cup salsa. This is wonderful over rice and makes a pretty presentation for company. Steamed plain green vegetable and a salad and croissants, and you look like a pro!

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
I thought this was very good and from all the different reviews, you can tell it is very forgiving. I have a suggestion: Maybe all the variances have to do with the type apple and how thickly they are sliced. My favorite apples are Pink Lady and Honey Crisp, but I used one called Tango which was just okay, thinly sliced and layered. i did the thing with 1/2 apple sauce and 1/2 oil and mine was not the least bit greasy. In fact, I made a carmel sauce to squiggle across the top to make it sweeter and gooyer, but it would be good without it, in fact, it would be great for breakfast or brunch, so dont count it out if it doesnt fit your bill for a desert. I will be making it again, Im sure.

Strawberry Pie II

Made exactly per instructions and it was perfect. I brushed the stored bought pastry with egg whites before baking to keep the bottom crust from getting soggy. The very taste of SUMMER!

Warm Steak and Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
Made this for girlfriends and they went on and on about it. I marinated the steak for tenderness, and quick cooked green beams and carrots to add, making a bigger meal. Also added feta cheese crumbles at the last, but I am sure it would be perfect as is. Just served with crusty garlic bread and fresh strawberry pie (from this site) to make a perfect light supper.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2013
Cant add any more to the other reviews except to mention, it really does help to pour 2/3 of the glaze into the pan and put the cooled cake back in then add the remainder of the glaze, letting it sit for 20 minutes. Also, I plan on experimenting with this recipe because I think it lends itself to a struesel swirl through the middle. Also, I might use a carmel cake mix next time. A wonderful any occasion cake!

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
This is a no brainer plus down right great recipe. I used my favorite marinade 1/2 of a day, and then made the ribs like suggested. THEY DO fall off the bones, and my husband said I could fix these every week from now on! I made pinto beans in the crockpot(standard recipe on pkg. but added dasf of liquid smoke, 1 tsp. steak seasoning, smoked chilies and 1 bay leaf) and corn on the cobb and coleslaw. AWSOME

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
This was so easy and fun. Very proud of myself to be able to whip up hot tortillas for breakfast! One great thing is that I can keep it for several days in a zip lock in the frig and just roll out what I need. It is a snap and so good served hot with butter and a cup of coffee!

Sweet and Tangy Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
Very good, I'm sure, as is. This is just to let you know that I had to leave out the nuts and raisens to please my husband and it was still good. I also only had mozerella cheese and it was fine, but I think it will be much better as instructed with the sharp cheddar. I think next time, I will use the wine vinegar as one reviewer suggested, and maybe cut back alittle on the mayo.

Chinese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
Loved this!Very tender. Cooked it out on the grill, but I am sure it is good in the oven as well. 1st time, I made just as listed, but cut it half for 2 pork chops, but the second time I made the whole recipe (except I used lime juice instead of lemon as per one rating I read) and I am glad I did because we sliced the leftover pork for hoagie buns and the sauce was perfect for a dip for the sandwiches. You must try this....

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
As is, it was OK, and I served it with a Cicken fajita salad. The second time I made it, I spced it up with Hot Salsa and added a 3rd can of beans drained for extra substance and about a cup of leftover rice. MUCH better for us. I will make this again maybe adding meat and serve with cornbread as a main dish. Just something to think about.
