About this Cook
I have been married since 1993 and we have 1 teenage daughter. We are a soccer family. My daughter has been playing since 2002 and is now a junior in high school. She hopes to play in college.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make new dishes. I love a challenge in the kitchen however I am not a baker. My favorite go to recipes are burritos, curry chicken, taco salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, and baked chicken. AND I love veggies !!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I love to experiment with new recipes. We often find not so easy recipes to do together.
My cooking triumphs
Making my mother in law's biscuits from scratch and them not turned out like hockey pucks !!!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedy was when my husband and I were newly married. I made a big dinner of Swedish type meatballs and mashed potatoes (my mom's recipe). I thought I was doing so well until I combined baking soda with milk instead of cornstarch to thicken the sauce (both in boxes) and it foamed up and over the pan I was cooking it in. I was so embarrassed and just started bawling. Of course, my new husband laughed (in a nice way)and we ended up going out to dinner.

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic
This is really good...BUT only use 1 TBSP of salt. I don't mind things salty but 3 TBSP's is overkill. I did add cayenne pepper to spice it up a little. Good job, Mrs. Smith
